So I spoke to my reporter mate earlier. In his view, Klopp is nailed on as your next manager. I have to say that I'm far from happy to hear this. The ****er is seriously good <doh>

    Mine too, proper good weekend.

Mental Saturday though, had ten of my eldest lads mates all day, some of them for nine bloody hours. One or two parents owe us one!
Golf, badly, Sunday morning then gardened and drank cold beers all afternoon.

The match was ****, gave it half a glance second half while doing some Lego. If Fergie can't be arsed to ran Rafa's words down his throat then I can't be arsed watching the team fail to do so either.

Beach all day yesterday. Bloody lovely.

Nice.. I went and sat by a lake yesterday morning with the mrs and the dog. The lake has massive terrapins in. Then played Bransford yesterday. Bloody difficult course. Played quite well barring a couple of howlers.. Didn't have a course guide so were just hitting and hoping in some holes. Actually putted quite well yesterday.

I had an 8 on the first and an 8 on the second, both par 4's.
As you can imagine, I was raging by then. I threw in two more later on and they contributed to be 14 over, I didn't play the other 14 holes too badly!

**** it, I'm blaming the greens and moving on to next week.

Ditto our match. Proper anti-climax as I was really looking forward to it. First Derby in seven years. Good day out though <ok>

Hey you said they were the first at something, just pointing out what we were first at in the modern era #5times. Come on, what would a United x Liverpool discussion be without one talking about Prem titles and the other talking about Euro cups? <laugh>

It seems it will be Moyes, will he be able to cut it? Can he attract the best players? Will SAF hanging around hinder him? Should all be interesting.

Ah, ok then. If we're talking about firsts, then we're the first English club to win the European Cup and the first to win the Champions League. After that all you other Slim Shadies are just imitating :)

Oh, and Real Madrid were the first #5 times, with AC Milan first in the modern era. Like I said, just imitating ;)

As for Moyes it's very much a wait and see job for me. Don't see the point in bigging him up, nor do I see the point in writing him off.

He has certainly overachieved at Everton when considering the resources available (10th highest wage bill in the league, 15th highest transfer spend over the past decade and no external investment before you ask ;)). Whether he can continue to do that at Utd is anyone's guess.

As for attracting players, I don't think he'll have a problem. Hodgson didn't stop you getting Suarez, Di Matteo got Hazard etc etc - the big name players will come for the club not just the manager. Either way you are right, it will definitely be interesting.

SAF's retirement caused Utd's share price to fall by 4.7%, reducing the total market value of the club by £90 million.

Who'd have thought a senile old alcoholic would be more valuable than Ronaldo? ;)

I think he's the one manager who will not be phased, will appreciate even, by the presence of Fergie upstairs.
His guidance will help Moyes and he'll no doubt seek and need it on occasion.

It will also help with player recruitment. Definitely.

Got to say, I am happy enough with It being Moyes and hopefully he'll be given every chance. He'll need to learn about Europe but will get plenty support from the staff already there on that.

I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I've thought Moyes would be our next manager for some time and been happy with it, as i do rate him. Now its actually happened I feel quite apprehensive.. I dont expect to win the league next season under him or even the one after, my biggest concern is that we qualify for the CL.

I also hope there is truth is Ronnie coming to back to us as you'd think with him in our existing team Sam Allardyce would win the league with us.

I would have apprehension with whoever came in as no one can guarantee anything. Not one manager can do that, bar Fergie and he's gone.

League wise, at least for top four, Moyes is best bet. If he can get where he is with Everton I think he can sort out top four with us, especially if he keeps the backing of the staff already there. After that he starts challenging to win the thing.

Europe will have to wait a while, he won't be an instant success in the CL.

Agreed, I think the only manager who would walk in and win the league would be mourinho. Though i know its not going to be him, for me he would have short term fix as he doesnt seem to hang around too long anywhere.. that said he will probably be at chelsea and try an emulate fergie now.

I'm not disappointed with moyes.. just a tad nervous. I for one wouldnt be calling for his head if we dont challenge next season.. though if we are out the running for the CL then I dont think he will last more than 2 seasons with no CL money coming in.
