I simply can't believe the reaction it received from them. Comments like ''last night showed we can beat anyone'', really ?? I mean really ?

Liverpool were decent last night against a average side, no more no less. Still it's nice to hear those players have 'found' the club again and remember what it means to be a LFC player

 

Liverpool were decent, but Zenit definitely helped them along because they were terrible, only two of their players looked like they even wanted to play and Suarez kicked one of those off the field at half time, Witsel was the other, he really looks like a class act.

Classic realism you mean, Zenit were shocking for most of the game, they struggled to string two passes together if Witsel wasn't involved.

Zenit were **** in the first leg too it was only the fact that Liverpool missed their chances in the first leg why they were in the ****ty position they were in last night.

Liverpool went out to a average side and their fans are praising them for pushing them close and showing good effort. A good effort should be the least you expect each week. To me it just shows how far their standards have fallen that they can praise that performance as highly as they have whilst ignoring the fact that they should have won the tie over the two legs.

 

For once, I completely agree with BBF's views on the topic (I know, shoot me now)

It says a lot about how far Liverpool's expectations have fallen that the fans are suddenly over the moon at the fact they have finally put some effort in for one game. Completely ignoring the fact that they still lost to a pretty bang average side and created next to no decent chances from open play. I know they've not had much to cheer recently, but the reaction is a bit much.

 

Meanwhile, back at Old Trafford, waiting fans decided to discuss their own team for a change................................
