He said: “I don’t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don’t care.

“He is definitely not signing. He’s not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.

“My job is to make sure I do the best with them (my clients). If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter."

But in an extraordinary attack on one of the club’s most respected former players, Ward said: “Carragher is a kn'ob. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players - none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant."

Pretty much..

And he also appeared to blame the club for making news about the discussions public, saying: “How did this all occur? There is no smoke without fire.”

Ward said Sterling would not move to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich, and suggested Chelsea or Manchester City were the most likely destinations.

He added: “I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every premier league club will make a bid for him.”

But he's right - why were there so many leaks re. his contract?

Aidy is a pr*ck, as is Sterling but club have handled this poorly as well.

Raheem Sterling's agent has told the London Evening Standard that the winger won't sign for Liverpool for any amount.

The player's representative Aidy Ward has also spoken out against Liverpool and the club's former players who have criticised his client for turning down £100,000-a-week deal to stay at Anfield.

"I don't care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I don't care.

"He is definitely not signing. He's not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing.

But hitting back today, Ward told the Standard he “didn’t care” about the club or its image, dismissed criticism by former players as “irrelevant” and branded Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher “a knob”.

Sterling, who was booed as he collected the club’s Young Player of the Year award this week, is rapidly falling out of favour with Liverpool fans, with one apparently kicking his car as he drove away from Liverpool’s training ground yesterday.

This has gone way beyond any recovery imo, in tomorrows meeting the club should insist he puts in a transfer request, if he refuses the club announce just that and place him on the transfer list.

It's as simple as that and if the club drag their feet over this they will look stupid and weak, make a statement show that this won't be tolerated and sell him. If he was of Suarez standard then I understand the clubs stance but he's nowhere near this and not worth the hassle he's causing.

We did the right thing being strong and insisting Suarez stayed, the right thing here is to sell.

The kid clearly wanted out whatever the club did or said Jimmy <ok> Leaking stories is hardly new news is it? Clubs do it and agents do it every week of the year. If you want a stick to beat the club with I can think of many bigger and better ones than that.

If a player do not want to play for you it's not a big deal. You cannot keep unhappy player. The future would tell if Sterling has made a good decision. The way he is going about it is completely wrong.<doh>

You know I've said this previously but in light of these comments, maybe Raheem and Aidy deserved such treatment if they were acting this way prior to it going public?

Calling a club legend a knob in public is not acceptable no matter what.

Agree - they've handled this so poorly and whilst I have defended the pair (to some extent), I'm losing patience with the whole saga.

His future at the club is untenable - don't bother playing him in the final match, and get £40m.

I have no issues with Sterling wanting to leave to play for a bigger club, or asking for big wages. But show more respect and do it with dignity.

If recovery was symbolised by a line in one of Brod's presentations, it would now be looking like a dot!

Ward clearly has no future as an agent. He's trying to get a couple of big pay days from Sterling and Berahino, then retire since no one will work with him.

What a pair of utterly despicable ****ing ****s <grr>

Agree with most.. situation does appear to be broke beyond repair.
Agree that we has a club don't fuel the press with anymore sound bites, simply decline to comment on the "contract" situation.
Tell Sterling and his agent, if he wants out say so via a written transfer request, he'll then be put up for transfer, don't let it drag on during the summer, get him out ASAP for as much as we can get, no doubt they're be a bidding war (we hope) so we should get a decent amount for the lad..
Agreed, don't play him in the last game either!
And.. take Aidy Ward off the Christmas card list... no more Easter eggs for him too!
