He has helped win nothing since he signed at 15<ok>

See why some are happy to see him gone

Borini never did<ok>

But after gettin all that cash Rodgers should never have failed to get in quality to try and compensate for his loss. I mean, he has a certain way of playing and a style never seen before

Borini never got to play consistently with Suarez he got injured and when he was available Suarez was banned for biting other than that pretty much agree

Everton took Tony Hibbert on so Sterling much have half a chance then eh.
Don't diss the shoe <grr>

Tony is in fact the complete antithesis of Sterling. A local lad who wasn't the most gifted but always gave everything he had on the pitch. Never argued about money, whined about his lot or created any problems behind the scenes. His last contract was generous due to his lack of playing time, but he deserved it, for the years of great service he'd given the club.

I don't think it's anything to do with money, I think he's being honest when he says he wants to win trophies, and Liverpool isn't the place for that anymore. Don't get me wrong you're still a massive club, but you're not in a position to challenge reguarly these days, and that's only going to get harder. Next year the prize money of CL goes up from £30m to £60m (roughly) I believe for being in group stage, you could have a lot of catching up to do, and it will be soon getting to the point where young people won't know how big a club you are. I also think it's something to do with Brenda why he wants to leave. He came in spouting all sorts of **** about your history and "special" club and you lot thought he was the messiah, it appears most of you now realise he's a bit of a fraud.

I'm not even on the WUM just saying as I see it, but not gonna take the piss cos you'll probably come for Koeman soon.

I think what you have said is a perfectly reasonable point of view. especially as an "outside the club" comment. I think 90% of players who would look at our club would say the same.

Money is one thing cos clubs are awash with it but it is the basic I won a cup thin that points towards progress. I do agree that the more rodgers spouts the history and special ****e the more hollow it sounds.

coud happen.... swp has gone so badly awry with qpr that bradley wright phillps was looking better off over in mls thatn swp was facing no club next year

Most players will never reach the standard Carragher set an made the most o what talent he had

I'll always appreciate player like Hibbert and Carragher. they know they're not the greatest players around but they know what they can and can't do and as you said, they make the most of what they have. Put heart, desire, passion, bravery and loyalty in there too and you've got a cracking team player. I think Flanno is another one of these which is why I rate him so highly.

£40 m for sterling ??? how do you come to that figure... £15 -£20m max is about right for a teenager with potential.....I like the youngster and can understand him wanting away with the pressure put on him by Rodgers. The fact is he is too good for a team that don't have much potential other than finishing in the top 6 and he wants to win things and to be fair Rodgers is not a winner and no closer to winning the premiership than the rest of us.

*Knobhead alert*

which is why you appreciate flanagan but can't admit he is actually an average player just like hibbert was. I always say there's nothing wrong with average as long as you are not asking them do do more than they can.

Average right full... fine no issue, don't expect him to light the world up going forward then. the other areas need to be stronger as a result. if you also have average CM in allen, then journeyman like lambert up front you will struggle.

I was only joking.<grr>

I went to school with his old feller, they lived in the next street, I'm always happy to see local lads red or blue do well.<ok>

Problem with Flano isn't that he's poor going forward. He's actually average at defending also.

The most dribbled past defender in the league last season. A lot of the attacks were down his side.

Not at all, I just don't like this [HASHTAG]#average[/HASHTAG] BS that keeps being banged about. I've said many times that Flanno is limited in his abilities but equally, he'll never let anyone down and his tackling is superb. In a defensive back line, he'd be my pick bar injury.

Flanno is a good player. The type teams need. You only miss what he does when he is missing

A lot of "average" players have won medals at Man U because their team/squad was a mixture of class and grafters, giving it all you've got for your club is commendable even if you are only average.

good... well....

I define it this way tell me where you'd rank hibbert and flanagan base don this then.

1. World class... is what it is. would be in a world 22 man squad ( i.e. iniesta or a ronaldo or a squarz or just maybe de gea)
2. top player.. CL standard player across biggest league in europe. (terry, hazard, ivanoic, rooney etc)
3. Very good player... top 6 type player (say nasri at city or barkely at everton)
4. good player. A player you'd rate but you'd not see making ti at a top club. Like lallana or say even long at southampton perhaps (pushing it imo).
5. Average player... run of the mill premiership player like allen or half of everton ;)
6. Journeyman. below par player making his trade. Like borini

so would you rate Flanagan that highly to put him up there as "good" via my way of looking at it?

And these average players are not starters e.g O'Shea, Wes Brow, Mikel etc.

They're useful to have in the squad but you don't build your starting line up around them.
