I once had the misfortune to get into a conversation with a Liverpool fan who lectured me on what it meant to be a Liverpool fan. Going to Anfield is apparently a spiritual experience, like entering a cathedral. The people around you may be strangers but they are also your family. It's difficult to explain to fans of other clubs.

It must be, since no-one else seems to understand. <whistle>

As funny as the article is, I disagree that Sterling wants to move "to win things".
He is 20 years old ffs, out of respect alone, especially when they are offering him the type of silly money thats been reported, he owes them another couple of seasons.
Give them a chance to build a team that will win things, its not like he is at QPR ffs. Liverpool grab the occassional trophy, wait till he is 22, earn his ludicrous wages, develop as a player and increase his value, then if the club isn't where he wants it to be, seek a move.

But now, at 20 years old, with only really 2 full seasons of football under his belt, in one of which he was very mediocre, trying to make out he is better than the club currently is and seeking a move? Completely ****ing ungrateful and stupid in my eyes.....like I said, he is getting bad counsel from his representatives.

The point was the title mate, as that's what Rodgers said so glibly about Southampton last summer, after having unsettled Lovren et al.

In all honesty we put ourselves up there for that kind of article with our protective nature and our self appreciation, but I and I presume most others don't give a **** when yet another poor hack who's stuck for ideas decides to have another dig have at LFC.
If only the management/team had the camaraderie and solidarity of the support, we'd be where we want to and feel we should be if they did.<whistle>

This would be his third season-ish.

He had a good start as he broke into the side and was hyped by Rodgers the following season as he helpe Liverpool fail in their bid to win the PL. this season has been poor for all those who fell short last season.

Gerrard is now too old and Sterling not good enough for another English top side.......but is being offered £100,000 a week by a so called top side

Its purely about the money bod, and no doubt he's struggling to keep out of trouble with the plod in Liverpool as his arrest record shows.
He spends a lot of time in Manchester and that's more than likely his next destination, he'll no doubt end up with a few medals for playing minor roles in City winning them but he loves the nightclubs and controversy so good luck to the mancs with that.

At the end of the day, he is most likely to develop if he's playing regularly. Would he play regularly for one of the other top teams? Maybe, but probably not. He's got plenty of time left in his career to win trophies, and is more likely to do so if he develops into a better player. It smacks of shert-terminism and, as you say, bad counsel.

Its his third season in the main squad, but he has only really had 2 full seasons as a regular XI. His first season I seem to recall him making 20 appearances or so, and a fair portion of those as a sub.
Last season was his breakout season, then this season he has been mediocre, as has most of your team, as you admit.
So he has had 2 FULL seasons as a main Liverpool player, one good, one bad and came a gnats hair away from winning a league title last season, is 20 years old and is being offered 100k a week and has the audacity to complain?? unbelievable.........what an absolute cock jockey.

He has said it isn't about my money so he can't be complaining about the £100,000 a week offer. Unless this is just based on being mediocre?

So it makes you wonder why clubs with managers less astute than Rodgers are willing to take him on?

He was good in that season but any player looks better when playing with Suarez.

Borini never did<ok>

But after gettin all that cash Rodgers should never have failed to get in quality to try and compensate for his loss. I mean, he has a certain way of playing and a style never seen before

Taking into account the size of both clubs and the fact that EFC are permanently cash strapped I'd say Hibbo got the equivalent of Sterling's offer but on a much smaller scale.

We must have been desperate to keep him too, even if he never won anything.....like the boy Raheem
