All sorted. Thanks.
I was stationed in Malta in the mid-fifties. Gozo was completely undeveloped, a wonderful haven of peace and solitude, particularly the west side. I learned to rock climb on the cliffs of Malta, driving round the island in my first car, a 1935 Austin Seven tourer. Happy days!

It's still hard to explain why that run after lockdown was so bad. We played several teams who were nothing to write home about, so it's hard to believe we didn't even pick up a single point (and hardly scored a goal). I guess the Prem is ruthless - if you're the zebra at the back of the pack, you get eaten.

This worries me about our start this season. Yes, in a way it's lucky we have Liverpool, Man City and Leicester given the Covid outbreak and the lack of match fitness, so we're losing games we would probably have lost anyway. But if we get too far behind, we'll be picked off - look at Sheff Utd last season. The Watford game is looking absolutely crucial at the moment.

We took 4 points off Leicester last time around and I think that one could be close as our new players gel and performances improve. Results can be misleading as Liverpool showed, so let's concentrate on the performances for now.

I know some ignore this as meaningless If stretched over multiple season but we are officially on the second worse losing streak in Premier league history.

Going clear of Villa on 12 scoring 1 solitary goal that Buendia effort against Watford and letting in an eye watering 32 .

Thats an average 2.666 conceded per game and scoring 0.083 goals per game .

We need to get this stinking monkey off our backs and win a game or all the hard work and confidence from last season will evaporate like a Fart in the wind .

For Hughton, some things never change...

Shows how inaccurate xG measures are though - they’re comparing individual players then they’re grouping “Norwich”, but that is not like with like; presumably that is Rashica’s shot - so it should actually say Rashica. But then it doesn’t really mean anything much.

And also I have seen various xGs for us 4% here, 13% and 11% elsewhere. So by some measures we were three times more likely to score??

It’s an interesting idea but xG has an enormous amount of work to do before it becomes anything more than of passing interest, it’s just not scientific.

Not scientific? Ooh, you're opening up a can of worms there, Rob. <laugh>

Ignoring the continuation from the previous Premier league season .

So far

Scored 1 conceded 10 in 3 games.

Average 0.33 goals per game scored and 3.33 goals conceded .

Which is so far worse than our overage of 2.4 goals a game conceded from the 10 losses since project restart.

Still 1 goal scored in open play in 13 games.

Not sure how to spin any of this as an improvement so far .

Crunching the stats after our first 10 games should give us a fairer idea of where we are .
