Our First Team Squad, who is past it, not worth of a spot??????, who is worth retaining??? Fabiański, Bony, Ki, van der Hoorn, Mawson, Britton, Fer, Abraham, Narsingh, Dyer, Nordfeldt, Carroll, Routledge, Olsson, Clucas, J Ayew, A Ayew, Rangel, King, Mulder, Naughton, Bartley, Fernández, Sanches, Marić, James, Roberts
van der Hoorn, Mawson, Britton, Olsson, J Ayew, Fabiański, James, Roberts, the rest can go screw themselves..................
No comment about the under 23's except to say some are worthy of the chance of a step up Connors is now a first team player in my book. I would say thank you very much for what you have done and release Leon, Rangel and Wayne so they can look for new future careers. Tammy and Renato will go back to their parent clubs. Ensure we give Mcburnie a new contract. Would try to move Bony and Carroll on I think KI, Mawson and Bartley will be transferred to new clubs. I'm 50/50 on Fer and Dyer but would retain the rest. If a player wants to move it is of no benefit to us or the player to try and keep him. A lot of course will depend on what league we are in.
Depends on which division we're in. If relegated a good few will insist on transfers and some on ig wages will be offloaded. Some will stay on / retire due to age or injury. Prem. Keep Fabiański, van der Hoorn, Nordfeldt, Olsson, J Ayew, A Ayew, Naughton, Fernández, Marić, James, Roberts, Amat. Returning to home club - Abraham, Sanches, King Out - Fabiański, Bony, Ki, Britton, Dyer, Maison, Fer, Carroll, Routledge, Rangel, Mesa, Grimes, Mulder. Retain at the club - Britton, Rangel, Routledge get them coaching and motivating youth) Championship Try to keep van der Hoorn, Nordfeldt, Olsson, J Ayew, A Ayew, Mulder, Naughton, Fernández, Marić, James, Roberts, Amat, Mawson, Fer, Carroll, Clucas, Narsingh, Bartley, Fulton, Borja, McBurnie, Dyer, Routledge, Rangel, Out - Fabiański, Bony, Ki, Fernández, Retain at the club - Britton, Rangel and Routledge to move towards coaching and motivating youth) Looking at my choices suggests what many of us have suggested for two / three seasons, we have a Championship ready squad.
Only Fabianski is of PL quality. If we stay up, we need 5-6 signings that walk straight into the first team.
Stay up or go down the yanks will flog Fab as he's the only one worth serious money here ! Must get rid of big nose either way too !
TBF Carlos has done well Imo. He can only work with the squad he has. Strikers - Abraham -not PL ready Wilf _INJURED Broja - not PL ready LOAN J Ayew - Working hard McBurnie -not PL ready LOAN Wingers - Narsingh -not PL ready Dyer - not been PL standard for a few seasons Routledge - not been PL standard for a few season but works hard Amat - LOAN Midfield - KI - inconsistent Britton - career over Fer - INJURED Clucas - not PL ready King - - not been PL standard for a few season but works hard Sanches -not PL ready Maric -not PL ready James -not PL ready Carroll - not been PL standard Mesa -not PL ready LOAN Fulton - not PL ready (not even getting games in L1) Grimes - -not PL ready (but doing well in L1) Defence - Bartley -not PL ready MVDH - good enough for PL (and my star player) Mawson - good enough for PL when on form dreadful when not Olsson - good enough for PL when on form Rangel - good stand in when fit INJURED (?) Naughton good enough for PL when on form Fede - good enough for PL Roberts - doing a great job but should be brought along not relied on to save the day. Our major downfall has been recruitment. With around £150,000,000 spent in 2 season what do we have to show for it in quality players? Bringing in an injured (or doubtful fitness) player is a risk to bring in 5 is madness. Bony, Boja, Llorente, Sanches, Mesa (£50 million+)
But came to us injured and unfit. Worked out well in the end, wish he had stayed but can't blame him for leaving.
A much needed change is a must regardless where we are next season, Long term mistakes that the club has been guilty of for a very long time like not Getting in the transfer market early for players. Don't hold out hoping the player we are after gets cheaper and inevitably other clubs comes in and the price goes up. Don't let our players dictate the terms like Gylfi did and if we want to sell then do the deal that is right for the club not the player......Do not sell players that we need whatever has been offered and keep contracts up to date and not allow them to run down like we have with Ki........We should not be a selling club these days for players thinking they can use us as a stepping stone and if they take our contract then the club must decide if and when they want to sell or not......
