Arsenal are now a high pressing team and its those we struggle against as we mess about passing about at the back before Meslier forced into hoofing it.
Yep and that's why we saw Llorente really struggling playing left side of the defence, he's a fine player but not on his weaker side. That's why those calling for Cresswell don't really understand the problem.
Trouble is that will continue with whoever Llorente partners, until Cooper or Struijk return Surely better to have a proper CB playing there than a filling in RB
Llorente needs to play in his best position which is clearly right centre back, moving him was a disaster against Man City. Now who plays left side ? Sorry, not enough question marks for that particular conundrum ??????????????? Don't forget that now Firpo is suspended we're likely to have 4 right footers in defence against Arsenal.
Certainly a problem, as I day, hopefully Struijk is back. As said before, makes the Davies transfer ridiculous
Arteta’s a cheat. And gets away with it. Surely the fourth official or lino saw it happening? Can just imagine Bielsa dragging an injured Leeds player back on to the pitch to waste time - NOT. Tbh I’m glad we don’t resort to that. ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta was left raging and had to drag Gabriel Martinelli back ON to the pitch to receive treatment during their win over West Ham. The 20-year-old forward went down with cramp off the side of the field in the 81st minute, next to where his manager was standing. But Arteta was not happy with his player as he wanted Martinelli to go down on the pitch so the game would be stopped. And the Spaniard took matters into his own hands by pulling the Brazilian up off the floor before letting him fall back down the other side of the white line. The gamesmanship from Arteta and Martinelli was something which angered a number of people on social media. One football fan said: "Arsenal clearly the better team, but they spend so much time diving, rolling, complaining. Shame for those talented kids." While another added: "Yeah let’s all laugh at cheating. What is actually going on in football now?"
Cresswell has played Left side CB and he did it a lot in his partnership with Casey. When Casey went he had Nohan Kenneh and then we got Hjelde who can ply left back or left CB. My choice would be Cresswell and have Hjelde on the bench again, and have Drameh on the bench as back up for Ayling at RB. i would also put Dan James in the middle of midfield with Forshaw as he has pace and tackles back and have Gelhardt start up top. Greenwood would be brilliant on the bench because he is an ex Arsenal player and would love to do damage
... fullbacks playing on the wrong side is not ideal but it shouldn't be that big a deal at centre back - it's really common to have right footed centre backs playing left side. Admittedly, players will generally have a preference, often just from being used to one side over the other, but centrebacks should be interchangable. Lorrente in particular spent plenty of time playing on the left in Spain. He's meant to be mister versatile. I've been a fan - he's fundamentally a good footballer - but his marking and dwelling on the ball have been poor and his distribution mixed all season.
Cresswell, Kenneh, Moore and Hjelde can all play left side CB. And now we are back to 50% of the first team squad unavailable again, thanks to Shacks, Firpo suspension and now Dan James injured meaning 9 of our 18 man squad, we have no option but to use Joffy, Cresswell and Drameh
Pascal not back but Koch is available again says Bielsa. So do we play Koch alongside Forshaw and then look at who plays alongside Llorente at CB or just make Koch and Llorente our partnership at CB
Bringing back Davies from Bournemouth would be good as it covers the LB issue, but has he played enough? I know Parker and the fans like him but he doesnt play every game. Is the door being opened for Bogusz? Even he seems to have tailed off in the last couple of weeks, from being nominated for player of the season and deffo winning goal of the season, to playing a bit part in the Spanish 2nd tier
Jordan Stevens and Robbie Gotts scored last night to win 2-0 against Ipswich Town, but they are no longer Leeds players. Alfie McCalmont however plays every minute of every game at his loan club and bosses midfield? Could he make it?
they nominated him for player of the season when its only about a third through?... or do the spanish go by actual seasons... player for autumn... player for spring ?
