    To be fair, their keeper had a blinder that day.....Port Vale, on the other hand, was a self inflicted **** up that cost us big style. Mind you, though we lost Marwood and McLaren, pretty much because we didn't go up that season, Horton replacing Appleton did improve us, particularly when he brought in the ex-Luton/Watford mob

    Bristol , like Burnley, had nowt to play for yet played like their lives depended on it.
    BB left at the end of the following season (84/85) as we went up - to Derby who were still in Div 3!

    Ah, you're right on McLaren......I didn't remember him under Horton at all for some reason

    He put the corner in for Peter Skipper to score the winner at Walsall that sent us up.
