The song you most closely associate with the Toon.

I was driving home last night from Gloucester to Consett and a song came on the radio by Shed Seven 'Chasing Rainbows' which took me back to when Keegan resigned as I thought at the time that it totally summed up my in that we have been on a tremendous run... lived the dream if you like but it had all come crashing down to earch that fateful day.

Another one for me is the New Radicals 'you only get what you give' - which Metro FM, under the then stewardship of Mick Lowes (now BBC) did a montage of some of the best commentary bits one season (FA Cup?) to a backing of this song. I vividly remenber one part where his commentary totally drowned out the song when he shouted 'Ketsbaaaaiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!'.

We all associate songs such as the buskers 'Coming home Newcastle' and local hero of course but am I alone in having a couple of songs which will always be closely linked with the Toon?

I downloaded it last week off itunes AB - I think I paid 99p, that's all.

I always remember a MoTD montage of Ruud Gullit when he was our manager. It my have been when he was sacked but it was to the song by Travis ''Why does it always rain on me''

In the montage it was chucking it down at SJP and it was at the time the roof was off the SJH and Milburn stands for the expansion. Needless to say Ruud was getting drenched. Always associate this song with his time at NUFC.
