Enjoyed that game between Wales and England on B.B.C. Today. Wales home game at Wembley because of work being done. at the Principality stadium. ......... England were huge favourites to win, and should have if they had not been so bloody arrogant, ...... on three occasions they had kickable penalties, but chose to go for attacking touches. Just before Gibbs scored his try, England had kickable penalty, which would have killed the game, and wasted time, But. No, they went for a scrum, and use all the time up. ...... and we all know what happened then. ....... Bloody marvellous, Bloody brilliant, And what a bloody try. ..... recorded it on My shows, so I can look at it when I am bloody miserable, and that can be bloody often at this time,
Some great news about my good friend Norman Rees! Former Neath hooker and Chairman. Also a recipient of a WRU President’s Cap - a belated Welsh cap for when he played against Canada (I believe). @glamexile
About bloody time! I don't know why more tries weren't scored against the posts, it was a clear advantage.
In my time , A try was scored if the ball had been grounded, and against the post. The post was a continuation of the try line , and if the post had not been there, the ball would have been placed on the line........... No try was ever scored if the ball was not in contact with the ground.
Norwegian businesswoman Marianne Økland has been named as an independent director on Wales' Professional Rugby Board
I’m staggered ..... absolutely staggered. I know Martyn Phillips, Steve Phillips, Nigel Short, Rob Davies and even David Buttress - can’t understand their thinking on this .....
Here’s the WRU’s own web site announcement: https://www.wru.wales/2020/05/new-prb-director-appointed/
A very strange move! Økland is a portfolio non-executive director with international leadership experience from boards in six different countries, predominantly in banking and shipping. She joins chair Amanda Blanc, who was appointed last December, to complete the independent contingent of the PRB, the body which oversees the professional game in Wales. As such, she will be one of a small number of people involved in making the decisions that shape the future of the game in the wake of the coronavirus ciris. "We are delighted to welcome on board someone of such calibre and with such a high level of experience, who joins the PRB at this pivotal moment for the future of the game in Wales," said Blanc. "Marianne will offer a new voice and a fresh perspective at a time when , against the backdrop of the current world health crisis, it is vital that the PRB is proactive with plans to not only safeguard the future of the professional game in Wales, but to also allow it to flourish and reach its full potential when the time is right for rugby to return. "Marianne brings a wealth of experience gained over decades of dedicated work at executive and board levels in the financial sector and also possesses that all important passion for the game which will make her and integral part of the PRB." Looks like she is a NED of the Penguin Rugby Club who are a touring side
Wonder if it is something to do with money in the long run? Can't be anything to do with playing rugby !!!!!!!!!!! Can it ?
They can raise a huge amount by borrowing against the Stadium...... So money surely can’t be why they appointed this lady?
