Going on a pub crawl tomorrow from midday onwards with my two youngest kids, both over 18, wife has already said she is not picking up 3 drunks from the town centre tomorrow evening and we are not to act embarrassing if we see any of her friends whilst out. I do love a challenge!
Dog basket for you when you get home then.

I wouldn't call that a challenge tbh

Were you annoyed as a kid, when your parents told you to clean your room, sent you to bed early and scolded you for cursing? There might be a reason for your behaviour.

Studies suggest, that it can be linked to an increase of your IQ.

Intelligent people use more curse words
You always hear, that people who swear have a "limited vocabulary". But if you think about it, those who don't use any swear words are the ones who limit their own vocabulary, because they intentionally use fewer words than others.

In fact, there is a study deconstructing that myth about curse words. The result showed that people who could name the most swear words within a minute also tend to score higher on an IQ test. The study concludes that a rich vocabulary of swear words is a sign of rhetorical strength rather than the attempt to hide verbal deficits.

Intelligent people are night owls
Like to stay up late? This also could be a sign for intelligence. Scientific research has linked night owls with higher IQ scores for quite some time now. President Obama, Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill, Keith Richards and Elvis Presley are all famous for nocturnal activities. If you tend to go to sleep rather late, you're definitely in good company.

A messy desk and intelligence go hand in hand.

You swear a lot and stay awake late? Look, if you also tend to leave a bit of a mess behind, there's good news for you.

A study by the University of Minnesota suggests, that the messy desk of geniuses is actually linked to their intelligence. If you don't spend much time cleaning and organizing everything around you, your mind is obviously occupied with more important stuff.

The study went on to show that a messy enviroment led to a more creative workflow.

Psychological scientist Kathleen Vohs says: “Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights. Orderly environments, in contrast, encourage convention and playing it safe.”

This is a good day for all the swearing, messy night owls among you. Does any of this sound familiar?

<whistle>

Load of ****ing bollocks.

totally agree.

sloppiness is not a sign of intelligence. the content of one messy desk and another messy desk can be entirely different. one guy can have 20 active projects or whatever there and know where all are and the guy next to him can have dust gathering on cups and plates and just be a slob.

most of all however I find people up at crack of dawn and bouncing round to be far more successful that the rocks star types to think they need 3 cups of yank coffee before they can string two words together.

I've this really annoying yank on the hone who seriously embarrasses us in front of suppliers cos he cannot get his **** together.. and blames it on the early morning for him. 5 mins perp and he'd be ok but he's always the same.. rock up... what you got for me.. oh hmmm can i remembers.. hmm... blame coffee, i'll get back to you.

Arseholes, bastards, ****ing ****s and pricks. <laugh>
Although I was obviously joking I would say that this is a bit of old tosh:

That would be true if asked to name the most words within any limitation, not just expletives.
Also, intelligence can't be equated with eloquence in this way. There may be a correlation in many people, but there are people who are not necessarily good with words who are nonetheless intelligent in other respects.

I only posted it for a laugh <laugh>

I never suggested that you'd written it, or subscribed to its findings.
I was just discussing it.
I liked it. I'm a night owl, a messy worker and obviously have a brain the size of a planet.
I just don't say ****.

Oh bugger.
He obviously didn't write it....he's not smart enough. :bandit:
