As one said on BBC, you were more likely to be in an accident on the way to the park than actually while you're there on one of the rides...

Im not a fan of theme parks anyway to be honest but was speaking to someone just now and they said hasn't put them off... One of them things that unfortunately once every now and then happen. Like someone mentioned above, planes crash, cars crash but we still travel in them because they actually have a very good safety record.

True and today is probably the safest day possible to go to Alton Towers <laugh>
 
Bet you don't have to queue for many of the rides that's for sure

It was on the news this morning as I was leaving the house, they were queuing to get into the car park! I don't think that ride is open though, just the rest of the park.
