I remember a comment from my form teacher after my first year at Grammar School.

"Academically, Andrew has had a sound first year. Socially, I've not always been so pleased with him."

Someone had spat at me. I spat back at him, missed and my form teacher copped it as he walked through the door into the playground <laugh> Got sent to the head for that, who later (when I was at university) went on to murder his wife <yikes>

Barely scraped through the GCSEs that i did do, spent most of school skiving, couldn't be bothered with sixth form

It's a tough job mate and the government have done a great job of removing any public support for them as they have done with nurses.

Not sure it's the Govt who've cost teachers the publics backing in their recent battles over penions and pay hikes.

I think it's more that Joe Bloggs has had it tough since 2008, his final salary pension went down the s**tter 15 years since and he's likely not to have had a pay hike at all - let alone inflation or beyond - for 6 years and counting. That's before you start talking about the 13 weeks holiday et al. So he's had trouble stomaching listening to teachers bleating on about having to actually contribute to their bloated pension pots and how a 1% pay rise isn't enough.....

I know the job's not easy at times and especially in some of the inner cities, but equally it's far from the worst job in the World either and to hear some teachers go on about it, you'd think they spent 60 hrs a week at it......

There's good and bad teachers, some are fantastic and a credit to their profession, but there's plenty who aren't.

That's why I never see him... I stay away from that thread! <laugh> I don't even take a peek in (like I occasionally do with Cricket thread), I don't want to be tempted to say anything on there and get drawn in again.

Get in get out works for me, kind of like the Israeli operations ironically enough

Murdered his wife <yikes>

Yeah. The story goes that she used to ridicule him for his lack of performance in the sack and then she blatantly started an affair. He took her breakfast in bed one morning, whipped a hammer out from under a serviette and bludgeoned her to death. Poor old cuckold. He later went on to marry his probation officer <laugh>

Messy - in more ways than one!
