Quite likely (what you said in your penultimate sentence). I've had full-blown covid twice now. Once right at the beginning, I wasn't seriously ill, as in a hospital case, but it was harsh and took almost two years for my voice to recover. Second one was a year ago. Since then I've had a number of minor things and I was convinced my immune system was compromised. On the other hand, there are newer covid variations doing the rounds now and I get mild symptoms but am reasonably ok, so maybe I have actually developed some immunities. It's hard to know, and I don't feel bad enough to bother with a test.
Hope you're feeling better soon mate I've been bunged up all last week and was feeling like **** too so know exactly where you're coming from with the highlighted bit. I screamed the ****ing house down which hasn't done my throat any favours
Idalia coming right for me... or directly to the South of me (and North and west sides of storm gets worst rain)... depends on model if I'm predicted for direct hit or not.
It looks like it's due to hit Florida first so shouldn't it lessen with landfall? Anyway, stay safe, whatever happens.
Yes... Will just be tropical storm when it hits here. Will likely flood street I'm on though, so I'll probably be stuck at home for a few days (house is high on hill so no danger of house flooding). Also, I'm on well water, so if power goes out I have to rely on water jugs. (Got about 30 gallons, so should be enough)... usually lose several trees after every tropical storm too. I'm prepared.. we won't be anything as bad as Florida... last tropical storm the worst we had was trees falling blocking the driveway in a few spots and my homemade bridge for the lawnmower over the creek getting washed 100' downstream.
I drove metal spikes 3' into the ground for the other bridges. Just the one that goes swimming everytime there is a flood. Always a game of "find the bridge" after a big storm.
probably need to construct such that you can lift it out and off the water flow cos you've lots of time to do so.
Not really possible. This particular creek is really narrow where this bridge is, but the land on either is flat for about 6' in each direction before ascending sharply. After a really powerful storm that whole 12' wide area is a flood plain.. The other two bridges are larger and cover wider creeks. I drove long metal stakes through them and into the ground and they stay put (although they don't flood as bad). I've bought the stakes, I just need to drill holes through my footers and push the stakes through. Bridge is only about 4' long. Not a big bridge.
Anyone ever used sheepskin covers (for their car seats); any good? Will I have to wear a purple suit with a top hat and start swinging a superfluous cane around if I put them in my car... or are they normal-human respectable?
