Nominally, but not functionally. Which is a good thing and a bad thing. I don't think anyone is going to want Charles exerting any kind of real power.

Ideally a country would have a head with much less power than the US President, but not as neutered as the royal family. Something inbetween would be good.

Can't think of anywhere like that.

It's always the one glorious leader who says what goes which is not actually democracy at all

    Rishi Sunak 101 up from 88 +12
    Penny Mordaunt 83 up from 67 +16
    Liz Truss 64 up from 50 +14
Kemi Badenoch 49 votes, up from 40 +7
    Tom Tugendhat 32 down for 37 -5

no sign so far of the idiot in last place dropping out and saving himself the indignity of a vote AND letting the others get on with horse trading for votes.

The way i see it is that 27 more votes are up for grabs next monday but half of the tuggers votes are likely to switch. truss wants badenoch to drop out as well to ensure her run.

    sunak in lead
    Mordaunt -18
    truss - 19 to mordaunt
    Badenoch - 15 to truss

sunak took less form eliminations than the other two main candidates.

If tugnedhat votes go more to mordaunt and sunak then his 32 could bring them up to ~120 and ~100. Trus is banking on the vast majority of the 27 from bravebrid going to her. that will still leave her 80-90 odd. this might not happen and badenoch might curry more favour?

This wil lthen come down to the split of badenochs votes.

Mordaunt only needs to be 2nd in this race and she will win the public vote.
truss v sunak is an interesting one.

All the rabid dog brexiteers are desperately trying to smear mordaunt and get everyone to push Truss over the line so they can get their snouts back in the trough.

Clearly seen as the moron they can control

Couldn’t care less who wins the Tory leadership vote. I will not be voting for them.

well when truss is in and mogg is smiling you know you are ****ed.

When patel is passing more laws to steal liberties and acting like the true fascist she is...

    etc etc

The fight of starmer V sunak is basically one of rich people wanting poor folk to make them more rich and Starmer v truss is which moron is slightly less moronic.

They'll still be PM and able to do quite a bit of damage for a few years if the wrong one is selected. I mean, look at May to Johnson. May not the strongest leader but didn't cause too much damage and then Johnson who is a blithering idiot and allowed Patel to get that anti protest law passed (that really is long-tern damaging to democracy).

god the tories tearing themselves apart is boring.

It'd be interesting of something immediate would happen but ones its all over they'll pretend to like each other again and start talking about taking the full term then winning again.

the fear of Mordaunt getting the job is palpable though, the arch brexiteers are all over this to stop her run.

It's cooled down here the last few weeks. Temps as low as 30C (down from 40C earlier in the year)... You lot have stolen the hot weather.

But humidity has been a nightmare. Took advantage of the cooler temperatures to go hiking yesterday, but the humidity made it still unpleasant.

you all killed the planet. greta was right.

hopefully she's not going to top herself now that the world is burning like she feared.

I'd be watching her closely if i were her parents.

The tory tugger has been eliminated have gained precisely -1 votes so that entire weekend of TV was utterly pointless.

Rishi Sunak 115 up from 101 up from 88
Penny Mordaunt 82 down from 83 up from 67
Liz Truss 78 up from 64 up from 50
Kemi Badenoch 58 up from 49 votes, up from 40
Tom Tugendhat 31 down from 32 down for 37

Honestly the entire weekend of bully was a complete and utter waste of time and our airwaves so the tugger could spank himself off in front of us. The writing was on the wall Friday. He could have saved us the trouble as could badenoch. Today should have ended this bullshit.

The entire point imo was to give time to the media to influence this and paint muraunt as an incompetent and trans or non trans activist who's been out to run for this for years.

It's fairly clear now the sheep are headed for sunak and it will be sunak v Truss and it was very obvious last Thursday that was the case.

The multi millionaire who couldn't give a stuff or the woman who dressed like thatcher to curry favour. What a choice.

I'd be embarrassed to have spent the weekend campaigning and on 4 and to take 2 minuses. Tugger has not done well here despite having the easy ride in debates.

We are now at over sixty earthquakes since Xmas. (Still none serious). They're finally investigating what might be causing so many. (USGS has been mostly ignoring us because they have all been 3.something or below, and we're not on a sexy fault line like California... but they're finally investigating because we've had so many) One of the leading theories seems to be water from the river seeping into cracks of an ancient fault line.
