I'm more in the camp of not selling my dna data to random companies in case I decide to ever go on a killing spree or whatever.
No DNA involved in online ancestry paper records searching so nothing to worry about ..... unless you know you have some skeletons in your closet
There are a few search sites that are free or at least offer a free trial which can get you quite far. I can't remember what I used - was a while ago before it became really popular - but it was all free. Once I had names and places I went searching the local online parish or village records.
Same here except the other way around. It's very common Scouse heritage. I don't think we've got any Norwegian roots though
Nothing wrong with them - well no more than usual - it was my mode of transport that proved reluctant.
I can no longer join Hitler's nazi party after finding out I'm 2% Asian after doing one of those DNA tests! Wonder if my son can qualify for "minority scholarships" to help pay for college now! I was actually surprised at how little "British" I have in me. My father was British (rumours of German and Gypsy in the English side, but should have been mostly English). One test put me at 7% British and the other put me at 15% British... Granted my father was born during WWII while my Grandfather was stationed overseas, so I'm not sure if there is anything in that! So anyhow, with so little British in me, I'm probably not related to any of you. I probably have relatives in Nozzer's basement though!
