Has there been any speculation about this spilling into Pakistan. The Taliban has a lot of support there and used it a refuge at times when hunted in Afghanistan. Now the Taliban has taken over all the equipment given to Afghanistan by the West and has inertia on their side, I wonder what the danger of them trying to take over Pakistan too is.

The Pakistan Taliban may become more active but the Pakistan Army has more than enough kit and from previous experiences are willing to use it and their determination may have been strengthened by https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-30491435

Pakistan has one of the largest standing armies in the world and is, as you say, well equipped for a country of its status.
The Taliban can of course mount terrorist attacks - they can do that anywhere - but any serious inroads into the country's sovereignty would be impossible under the current political climate.
Having bought their nation's independence with considerable bloodshed after the fall of the Raj I expect they'd be quite keen to hold onto it.

Of course, the Afghan army heavily outnumbers the Taliban too, and they collapsed like a house of sticks. But probably just filled with a bunch of cowards wanting a pay cheque rather than legitimate soldiers. Pakistan is hopefully more professional.

The Afghan lost 70k men fighting the USA's little war.

Once Biden pulled the air support they were surrounded in little forts and out on a limb.

The Pakistan government actively support the Taliban but also have all the air power they need to destroy any efforts anyone tries on.

Brexit final bites deep in the gammon heartlands.

No fizzy drinks or milkshakes in mcdonalds.

Shortage of lorry drivers for some reason.

Chavs also affected no chicken in nandos.

Back to football. I see LFC have refused to release Salah, Firmino, Fab, and Allison for the internationals. Good start, but I bet they go with exemptions from having to isolate on their return.

I'm too old for nights out in town now but from what I've heard it's best to avoid Matthew Street and Concert Square.

There are several sports bars in the Baltic Triangle, some with outdoor areas, here's a few names Dockleaf, Punch Tarmey's, Camp and Furnace. Hope you have a great weekend.

If you get anywhere near Latchford in Warrington I understand The Cheese is a welcoming pub.

Seems to be a theme about avoiding Concert Square.

Cheers for the tips mate. We all well in our 30’s or older so we trying to balance out we don’t want to land in bars full of young uns, but we’ve all got a bit in the tank still <laugh>

On a serious note The Swan in Wood St is a brilliant pub for real ale and has the best jukebox ever.
