I'd imagine beneath the outward proclamations of boundless happiness most guy's true thoughts on their wedding day are some variant of 'how the hell did I get myself into this?' and 'what the hell am I doing?' ... feel free to correct me
my main one while exchanging the vows with my beloved was "couldn't my old man & hers have found a better time to discuss the ****e ERF synchromesh gearbox " They were both wagon drivers . PS we're still together 36 years later .
Been watching The Old Grey Whistle Test Definitive Collection, over 9 hours of OGWT performances, some brilliant live performances. Just got the final DVD in the set to watch.
Steady 10mile with the eldest today. Good deed for the day too; came across a fire in the woods. Middle of nowhere with not a cat in hell's chance of the fire brigade getting near it. Roughly 15yrds wide with only the outer circle burning, centre had already burnt out but it was getting very close to a couple of trees. Managed to put it out using branches and covering it with soil before moving on. #notallheroswearcapes
15 miles on the bike tonight, ended up doing an out and back to a local lake, stopped there for a bit while the sun was starting to set to enjoy the view, plenty of people about walking around the water and getting ice cream and stuff from a couple of vans and cafes that were doing takeaway. Fairly relaxing ride really, one slightly vicious but pretty short climb en route. Nearly completed that Strava challenge now, could've done that tonight if I'd added 10 minutes on, but thought I'd save it for next time. Looking forward to ordering some new cycling kit now as I could actually do with it. Listening was a Christopher Hitchens audiobook which I had to abandon eventually due to wind noise
Do you have to be a paying member? And do you have to complete all three monthly challenges or just one?
No. And it's just one challenge that's running until early June, if you're interested just join it on there and any recorded activity will count towards it
Do you just tick them all and see what happens? Annoyingly, I was using Strava before the mrs got my the fitness watch. I'd have smashed the 15hrs challenge by now
Tick all what? I can't properly remember now. I think after I joined it I clicked on include me in the voucher offer and the training bike giveaway I still find Strava somewhat useful even with a garmin and even though the free service is really limited now
There's a section called challenges. It lists all the upcoming ones and you have to tick the ones you want to be considered for...
