that's fair enough.... your entitled to your own opinion. I'm sure we can agree Clarkson belly is frankly atrocious.
hi rhc, bit random i know lol, but the field of science you are in does it cover AI in any way? not sure if this interests you or not, but microsoft are releasing a series of behind the scenes of what is going on at the company released weekly on youtube and the first one covers AI. i know it looks useful for archeology etc, but wondered if or what impact this has on the science field.
no you are not wrong, you get different programs depending on what country you pretend you live in as well
I've only just managed to post an avatar on here I get a few roles for bioinformaticians and computational biologists (same thing really), but with my IT capabilities, that really is just a case of matching key words on the CV and the job spec
Computers were a very new thing when I went to university. Had to do a module on programming in basic, which was double Dutch. I was still using slide rules and log tables
obviously im a bit younger than you i remember when i first joined the bank back in 98 and they was transferring the systems over to windows xp, i was lucky i knew how to use it and often helped out users with connections for printers over the network etc even though i never got fecking paid the same as the ****s who was supposed to do this used to sort the printers out as well!!! remember the old days when life was simpler and you used to be able to hack in and edit programs and put your own names in etc, used to play a cricket game where you chose to run etc for a ball and could get run out, used to put silly names in it lol. can still do same now days obviously, but have to delve more into programme to do this.
Nowhere near as many as there used to be. The only ones that remain in the US are ones they call "Netflix originals" like "last kingdom" and "watership down". In the US we get the short end of the stick with Netflix, a lot of shows that are on Netflix overseas are not available in the US.
BBC America has their own pay-for subscription service so they took everything off Netflix when they started their own streaming service here.
My experience with recruiters in the US is exactly that. You're not behind any if the IT recruiters in the US based on technical skills.
@luvgonzo what's with all the red and white striped ribbons on the PL board? Is that some sort of awareness ribbon, or some sort of club on there?
