So been to physio. Asked loads of usual questions etc.. then asked me what I thought is done - felt like saying well I’m paying you to work that out, but said I think maybe trapped nerve or something. Then asks what im hoping to get out of this session - again felt like saying you fix the problem, but wasn’t more diplomatic. Did a few exercises, walking on toes, on hers etc. Did some other bits and was like I think it’s a tight nerve but now it’s time to prove it. Put me on table, stared pressing bones on my back and was all fine... then goes just going to press on this bit and Jesus Christ, the pain was crazy. Literally made me spasm and shout out in pain Then just goes yup there’s the proof then Said it’s too early to do some hands on work so gave some stretches and suggested just take paracetamol and ibuprofen alternate every 2 hours for few days. If that doesn’t ease up then written drs not to get someththing stronger. Pencilled in for 2 weeks to go back and see how it is. Also said prob because of back posture is really bad, like leaning forward because it’s more comfortable rather than being straight up and back slightly which all makes sense. Fun times...
If doesn't despasm ask doctor for 2 days worth of diazepam ... that **** works a treat for relaxing and releasing stuff. Obviously can't take it it for much longer than that. At one point it was the only thing that worked for me when back muscles had my nerves trapped and ****ed my left back, hip, hamstring down to literally the foot.
Sounds exactly like sort of pain I’m in, back, hamstring and occasionally foot. See how it goes over next few weeks
And yeah... once that awful spasms eased find a physio led Pilates class that focuses on back rehab .... I did about 12 classes and after that knew enough to do at home daily to largely prevent it and if not release it before it gets that bad. Yoga block or two hardback books on top of each other.. lie on your back with bum on the books/block with edge nearest your back just at top most of butt.... then just relax on it for few minutes. Basically reverses damage sitting does. 2 tennis balls taped side by side... then lie on them for 5 minutes with a ball on each side of every spinal point moving them up each time... cheap home physio lol. Best stretches that worked for me was on back... bad leg over good leg (shin across knee) then pull good leg up to chest with hands.... released everything at side of hip.
Yeah got a few exercises to do at home hopefully that and pain killers will release it enough that he can do some hands on work for it. I can claim most most of the money back through work so can get 4/5 sessions of physio if needed
Good suggestion If not yoga join a gym as soon as this problem sorts itself out, get in there minimum three times a week for 45mins-1hour (depending on commitment to any other sports activities) and start a program of stretching, light weights and cardio warm-up/warm-down. You can also stretch at home. Strengthening your body, that's the best preventative thing you can do to stop a recurrence and any other injuries. In the meantime in-between these appointments the best thing you can do is some self-massage. Get a special tool or use a tennis, golf, hockey ball and use it to apply different kinds of pressure as needed to trigger any tender points. You're probably getting referred pain as well as pain at source so you'll have to judge yourself the areas that give most relief.
if you fancy someone for 70 quid an hour theres i guy i can recommend in china town..... not even joking, miracle cured a few people (that i know of) but he isn't always 100% successful though. I rate him though
I been a few times to sort my spine out and elbows. My sister saw him for a slipped disc. But yea expensive. He used to be 50 quid an hour before
