I tell you guys I think I’ve pulled my hamstring?

When my legs bent, perfectly fine but if I try stretch it out straight then pulls behind my knee. When get up to walk first few steps get shooting pain down my leg. Once get moving though it’s not too bad and I can jog without it seriously hurting. Just aches when been standing for a while as well.

Cant think what else could be but hasn’t got any better in last couple weeks (although playing 2 games of 5 a side prob didn’t help).

If it's a hammy you'll have pain in your thigh. The fact you can jog probably means no muscle damage. Providing there's no pain, do some gentle thigh stretches but don't overdo it and you really shouldn't be playing 5 a side until all the pain goes away.

That's sounds more like ligaments / tendons mate. You'd know if it was your hamstring, it's obvious.

Yeah no pain in thigh. It’s all back of my leg hammy down thrhough knee really. I did think maybe was ligament or tendons. Back of knee is where the initial pain starts when I do the first stretch.

    tbh...

Just a question but wouldnt a hamstring pull not be higher up the leg as in a tightness or stabbing pain just under the glutious

If it's down low behind the knee is that the opposite end of the muscle?

Well it's kind of migrated as the weeks gone on. Started off just hurting my hamstring when I stretched but as weeks gone it's more the knee that hurts first. Can't say I'm a trained physio so know too much about it <whistle>

What ever it is, it's a pain in the ass (both literally and metaphorically) at the moment as making me walk like RHC after 10 pints of Carling... or 1 proper beer.

Hamstring pull feels either tight or like you got stabbed in the arse.

My expert diagnosis here is hamstring tendonitis. You've inflamed it by not resting it and you've not treated it when it first occurred.

    Go to a physio.

    It's your leg.

I'm sure ol rhc said oh I'll wait out this awful pain in my groin too. Before finding out it was a broken hip needing major surgery.

You go to a physio. They know more than GP.

True but do you want an expert looking at it and actually giving you good advice... OR an overworked quack who will at best refer you to same place and at worst throw some painkillers at you.

Who knows what the thing is.
