Most technology that involves us talking to the machine is pretty bad still, the Alexa and Google home devices are good and they listen and answer well as long as you ask the right questions, you forget what little apps you've added and soon forget about the device. My Echo dot is pretty much a weather and news only device, it at times turns the lights on and off. I do use it to call people and that's quite good I suppose. With phones you have to open the phone first then say the phrase that activates it, it then questions you so for example I unlock and ask to text someone it then asks for confirmation and I have to reply by this point I'd be half way through the text and if I made a mistake with the text while talking to it you're bang in trouble and have to start again.
