Like to say I did it all myself like Zanjinho, but I am a lazy batard at the best of times. I did work up a thirst watching the fitters working though please log in to view this image
Very nice mate. Similar style to what we initially wanted bit couldn't find a sink that would be suitable for our small bathroom. That bath wouldn't fit even if it was the only thing in the room
The tiles are 60cm square, thought they might be too big but think it looks good and makes the room look bigger. Mrs wants to do the other two bathrooms in Spring!
I find it very irritating when they are ... also makes the floor a lot weaker when the joints are aligned. Always go random when laying floor boards
It's a normal shower as well, you have to move a valve to choose which one you want. I stick to the rain head, the normal one is for undercarriage washing!
I'd have said they were too big for the walls if I saw them in a shop, but up they look great. Bathrooms eat cash for the size of the space, but they're worth spending money on imo, as if you go cheap it shows.
When we first started looking around to see what we wanted most places said budget for £1k per sq metre of floor area to get some idea of the cost of a decent bathroom including fitting. tiling. etc. It's not as if you change a bathroom every couple of years so you want it to last and look good. Also I worked on the basis that the smaller the tiles the more grout there is to discolour over time and make it look crap
We have a height differential of 12 inches so are looking at similar to that - a fixed rain head for the tall [our sons occasionally stay over as well] and one that can be hand held for the female persuasion who also like to wash their hair separately from having a shower .... don't ask
My wife is 5ft and my son 6ft 2" so it's great having the rain head. The Mrs also insisted on having a shower attachment on the bath taps to wash her hair when having a bath. Don't like baths, basically sitting in your own filth, showers are the future, like garlic bread. Obviously not at the same time as the bread would go soggy!
Good point, and one I completely over looked when we last did one. As we went for marble (another mistake) and I thought it'd look great with some marble mosaics down the centre of the shower were the control knobs were fitted to break it up......forgetting about the fact that you use a natural style grout and there's shed loads of it to potentially discolour, cleaning it is a complete bitch.
