You're basically getting tomorrow what I'm getting here then. 30mph sustained winds with gusts over 60mph. So far really not that bad though. Worst coming in afternoon. It's much more nasty for those in the path though. We're hundreds of miles from the centre which is why not so bad for me. It would be like being in Liverpool if Irma was currently passing over Monaco.
Our back door is about 2ft off the ground. We have a small deck with railing. Everything outside, including bins are on that. As long as wind can't lift bin over deck railing I should be ok. (We've had our deck umbrella end up in a neighbour's garden once... Going over a fence too. )
They don't use an ABC level here. They do advisory, warning or watch. Advisory means keep an eye out for something happening. Watch means conditions are favourable for something bad to happen. Warning means that bad thing is actually happening. We're under a severe weather warning. And flooding and Tornado watch. I'm sure we'll get some minor flooding but nothing major. Maybe a few tornados. The usual heavy summer storm type crap. Rain falling now is pretty darn impressive.
Yeah. Not too bad. Tree down blocking 2 lanes of interstate coming back from kid's shrink appointment, but overall not seen any real damage here.
What i've seen on the news here it doesn't look super bad, obviously bad flooding in some places and damage but possibly not as bad as they feared
Haven't got to watch since last night because I'm at work but, yeah I think we got spared the worst. If this had hit Miama as a category 5 it would have been another Katrina but the worst of it worked itself out over barely populated areas. It's moving so quick too that it's not dumping too much rain in any one spot. Where I am, obviously nowhere near the centre it looks like the wind is faster higher up. It's not too bad on the ground but the thick dark clouds up above are zooming along in the sky. Never seen such fast moving clouds. Caribbean got this far worse than us.
Hurricane Boris already destroyed Britain. Ripped it right away from Europe. Virgin Islands won't be virgins anymore, they're about to get ****ed.
Had a bit of a nightmare with the girl i'm dating last night, she says she wants to speak and ends up crying down the phone at me saying I'm being too distant, feels like she's not getting closer to me but further away, and she's not so sure about things anymore Nozzer, take me to your basement !!
