They were looking to see if it was worth throwing Moreno off, but there'd be no point if he landed on his head.
Biscan, what's your Audi like? I'm thinking about getting the A3 S Line for my next car. Won't be just yet but wondering what the pros and cons are. @InEnglandWeTrust
Its decent. Haven't got an awful lot to compare it to but I know a few people that have them and they don't have bad word to say. Drives well, it's German so bound to be built well. Only other car I tested when buying was bmw1 and Audi just felt nicer to drive. Mines relatively basic model that's the only thing, but I wanted low mileage more than all the gadgets
Ok cheers. I currently have a 09 plate BMW 1 series and I really like it. But the 2011/12 plate A3's are really nice, especially the S Line model, I'm not overly bothered about low mileage (although lower the better!) as I don't do a lot of miles unlike you. I won't be getting it any time soon, just wondering what you thought of yours. Thanks for the comments mate
Mines 11 plate, like the look of it. Was tempted to look at golf as well with it being quite similar but think the a3 looks nicer, more curvaceous compared to straight lines.
I test drove a golf before I got my BMW, it wasn't fast enough for me even though it was really good on fuel.
I never go far over the speed limit these days. There are too many cameras about to take the risk, imo. I'm really not that much into cars and don't go for new ones so I've still got a 10 year old Audi A4. Theoretically it'll do around 140, I doubt it's ever done more than 85 with me. Plenty of poke to get you out of awkward situations, which in my opinion is better than flat out speed.
Yeh the one I test drove was a 1.4 and it was also blue motion tech, which I think is very fuel efficient but then doesn't have the power
Yeah I normally cruise at around 80 to and from work as luckily never any cameras and only occasionally a police car sitting in one or two places where can slow down just before they see you. As you say, more important to be able to have that acceleration to get you out of tight spots or for overtaking on single lane country roads etc.
Coming from your bimmer to a new Audi the first and main difference you'll notice will be the driving experience and lightness of steering in the Audi, the older Beemers have much heavier solid steering coupled with very nice leather steering wheels which even they have replaced with lighter plasticy type ones in their new models. This might make things a little bit sharper and nippier on the road but you will miss the old denser feel of the 09 bimmer if you like it. Other big differences on the inside are layout and build of dash, again you will be getting used to a different set up here, the Audi for me didn't feel as well built as the Beemer but still really nice, wouldn't convince me to change brands. I had an A3 as a courtesy car and am comparing against BMW 3 series M sport here. On the road the BMW had it for me, felt lower to the ground (because drive position was) and overall sportier, the Audi was a nice drive but didn't like the higher armchair like driving position. Other thing that bothers me about Audi is that they now make VW and can be seen as big bro to those, the build quality of the Bimmer, again to me, feels better, looks better, styling on more Bimmers is sweeter. I would still put Merc / Beemer at the top of the German mid-high end market, Audi are close but still second to those two
Less talk of speed I got done doing 81 on the A53 Hodnett bypass as I was overtaking an artic and wanted to get back onto my side of the road asap. Due to attend a speed safety class on 12/8/16 to avoid points on my licence. I was last done for speeding in the early 80''s, three times in a fortnight as I was a bit wilder in those days. I must have driven over a million miles since then without a problem, as you tend to calm down a bit once you have kids. I always remember the last time being done just outside Chester with my eldest daughter in the car, she was about four at the time. When we got home and my wife asked her if she had enjoyed visiting her grandparents she replied "Yes, and Daddy met a really nice policeman"
French Open fnal Djokovic vs Murray good match so far Murray up a break only in first set though whose watching ?
I only ever put my foot down on routes that i know Big problem I find is if you're in a powerful motor is other drivers not appreciating what kind of power you've got under you and cars immediately in front of you in lane 1 pulling out on you as you're just going to power past meaning you have to back out at 70+ whilst they're still under 70 and trying to come up to speed, they don't realise they have mirrors these people or what a shoulder check is so that doesn't help and don't understand what building up speed is. That causes major probs on slip roads, loads of drivers doing like 40 all the way along a slip road and merging with lane 1 still doing the same speed and taking an age to get to 70, a lot never even getting there ... you're supposed to be doing near 70 by the point you merge morons. Then exiting people who don't realise it's about gradual decrease of speed and just slam the breaks on to get it down to 40, ****ing clueless idiots
Was tempted by an audi or bmw myself but not sure the missus wanted to spend that much. Plus i pretty much hate buying anything on finance so bought a 1.4l corsa outright instead. Quite happy with it as its pretty similar to my previous golf. The turning arc on its pretty poor though
Murray takes the first set 6-3 Bit of controversy at 15-0 in the final game of the set as a Murray first serve glances the line and is called out. Umpire out of his chair checks the mark to see that it's good and awards Murray the point rather than asking them to replay. Djokovic is pissed because the out call came as he was in the middle of his swing distracting him on the return
Murray getting his ass handed to him now, in a large part by himself, 2-1 down in sets and Djoko has just broken in the first game of the fourth
