    BREAKING
Everton have asked the FA for permission for their fans to bring flares to Wembley for their semi-final on Saturday.
Apparently last time they were there, everyone was wearing them.

Yes. Lots of times. In a meeting (checking phone is tacky there). Camping (leave phone off in case I need it later). On the water.

Heck it's always quicker that getting phone out pocket and turning it on.

Mate of mine had one of those self winding watches which wind with the movement of your wrist. He used to watch so much porn he overwound it!

I have tried wearing watches but the battery ones only ever last about two weeks and then stop. Even bought a Porsche watch in the eighties and the same thing happened.

I own a full hunter Waltham traveller 14 ct gold pocket watch from about 1910, which I inherited from my Grandad, with a double albert 9ct chain and a George II sovereign for a fob. Its worth about £5k, but I only wear it with a waistcoat for weddings and formal dinners. It keeps great time, but is a bit OTT to wear everyday. I would also be a muggers dream wearing it.

    1. What kind of meeting room doesn't have a clock in it?

    2. Use the sun and be one with nature if you're gonna camp!

    3. Takes about 2 seconds longer to get phone out pocket than pull sleeve up.

99% of the time you'll have your phone with you so buying a £200 watxh is just an expensive extra.

    1. Most.

    2. The sun.... you can use a watch and the sun as a compass if needs be.

    3. No concept of being in woods for 3 days then? Smart phone battery doesn't last.

    4. Yes it is.

    2) uh huh.
    3) I don't wear long sleaves much 10 months out of the year.

99% of the time my phone battery is dead. <laugh>
My watch was $125 But I got mine on clearance for $35. <ok>

Some new beers in the local Tescots so thought I'd try a couple ...

Brew Dog Jet Black Stout - 4.7% but tastes stronger ... delish but only comes in teeny tiny 330ml bottles. Don't really like the company either as they come across like a bunch of preening arseholes but it's an excellent stout, very dark indeed, makes bottled guinness in its various forms feel a bit like piss water ... sacrilege !!

Anchor California Lager is up next ... rather cute red and cream coloured 330ml can with bears on it, a winner for me. Bears are cool. Is good, pours rather frothy with a near two finger head, 4.9% brew a golden straw/semi-dehydrated piss colour in the glass with real nice tart citrusy sweetness in the mouth. In the flavours you can taste the kinship with anchor steam beer made by the same company

Soooo ... buy, try or pass. Both are buys for me. Very good brews

Got three more in the chill chest, a new Kopparberg Fruit Lager   not sure about this but looked interesting, then two staples ... a Guinness West Indies Porter and a Peroni Doppio

Kopparberg Fruit Lager ... 5% pale straw colour in the glass with about a finger of head, real citrusy on the nose, the lemon & lime flavours dominate, same going down, it's like drinking lemon and lime sweets/candy, very sickly sweet, watery, no hint of lager, yuck, this stuff is disgusting. Like a lager top with 80% lime cordial or a mostly lemonade shandy. Maybe it's the other drinks before it making it seem worse than it is ??

Buy, try or pass ... it's a pass, don't waste your money
