No pay rise for us this year. Apparently the market is very cut throat and times are hard. Our CEO earned £2.5m in shares last year on top of his £2m salary, yes times are tough at the top. I am not to bothered as I earn well above average wages, but some of our office based staff are on 17/18k a year so no pay rise means a lot more to them.
That sucks. Last year our managers all didn't take a pay rise while rest of company got one (about 5,500 employees) and we are pretty much guaranteed something each year (have done for last 8 years and most of business is heavily unionised so very rare that they wouldn't get one). People do like to moan about work but our company is pretty good when it comes to things like that.
