Seems we tried our hardest to get the proposed £30 a seat for away fans adopted by the league, but were shouted down by those who don't give a **** about fans. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sp...g-boys-vote-proposal-cap-away-tickets-30.html
It's a pity. away fans are the best fans and have a lot of expenses to to get round the grounds that others don't.
Exactly. But clubs like Arsenal play on that loyalty and shaft them. I think that was a great proposal, and in the grand scheme of things is peanuts in the PL. Greedy ****ers.
Arsenal certainly want thier pound of flesh home and away. It was 50% of the price the charge so added up over 19 games? so theres about 3000 away seats there and 3000x19x30 = a grand total of 1.71 million pounds. Its not really going to do much for the average arsenal player isit... but i suppose they assume 3000 someones will turn up no matter what.
£1.7m tops, as not every club will sell out there. That's equivalent to one player on £30k a week......and their shun comes on the cusp of the TV revenues about to increase by yet another £30m pa.. per club.... The game has lost touch with the working man, and this was a chance to re-engage with the hardcore supporters who give up a huge chunk of their disposable income to travel the length and breath of the country. When you go to aways, the lads who go aren't primarily the middle class following that you get at home games, they're fans who are ordinary working blokes in the main. This would have been of great value to these fans
It is incredible but the FA and Prem could easily reciting by saying we're putting a cap on prices home and away. No away fan will pay more than X to go see their team and no home fan will pay more than Y. Thas the rules so deal with it.
I agree. Its very obvious that it has completely lost touch even to ignore the home or away divide. to bring your kid to a game is a birthday present type value not a regular weekend thing.... ok yes I can get junior tickets etc.. away support bring color and noise. Ok MAYBE it bring a level of songs you don't need to hear at times but its fairly tame compared to when i was growing up. I don't see why there can't be a rebate policy for any club that put in a voluntary cap that they can't recoup the difference form the FA. mind you this is the same FA that required that team of disabled players (was it womens?) to get a donation form a footballer to actually get to go.
I assume we're talking league games only here? Reason I ask is because lower league clubs bump up their prices if they draw a big club, they take full advantage of "winning the lottery"
Not to £60 they don't. It's all relative and they often do it across the board, so they maximise the revenue from the thousands of locals who never go but fancy seeing a 'glamour' tie. I've no issue with that tbh
bloody spell checker. I keep setting to UK but it keeps reverting. I also bought a new keyboard and the ****s sent me a European or maybe its a US keyboard so half the symbols are in the wrong place
Well it fthe tickets at a tenner in and those club bump it up to 20 or whenever i think ok.... LFc has class a, b and C tickets. everyone wants to go to utd game so its 77. for sunderland its like £20 cheaper. people just want to quote the top number. that said its still massively high. its arsenal money for a club in the north west.
The saddest thing is, that they're not applying those prices with the thought that the seats will be filled by people from the North West mate.
