Off this subject, but what level is Lincoln and Mansfield ( seeing as you are right round the corner on that one).
I don't know much about Lincoln but I would guess there isn't much between them and Stags. Stags were taken over about eighteen months ago and are steadily improving. they have disappointed this season though as they were expected to challange for promotion, they were one of the favourites for the Blue Square title. Stags played Newcastle a couple of times in the days of Shearer and co, they held their own only losing by the odd goal. They were also on the verge of promotion to League One a couple of times but fell in the playoffs. However, as with most lower leagues team, there is a high turnover of players so it is a completely different group now, coaching staff included. I think this is their third season in the conference, could be fourth. In reality, we should be able to play the reserve team against either side and come away with a win. If it ends up being against Stags then I want to go but tickets will be like gold dust around here!
If we lose this game (if it happens) it will be hell for me. I don't recall Liverpool and stags ever meeting before so I wouldn't expect it to happen again any time soon, means the banter would stick for a long long time
