I think you're right. In reality, I hardly ever use FB ( for personal things- I do have a professional page as well), for the reason I made the comment in the first place, people showing pictures of their meals and tell me a lot of stuff I have no interest in. When I first opened an account years ago I was bombarded with invitations to join FarmVille through someone who used to be my friend. It drove me mad until I learned how to block it, but it did write the sodding name indelibly on my memory. Please note: I was only messing about with the FFS - I wasn't expecting an issue to be made out of it. FFS.
Anyone got an iPad or any other kind of tablet?? Thinking about getting one today but dubious about how much difference it would really make to my life

I have a laptop/tablet. I don't see the point in getting an iPad if you have an iPhone... It's just a bigger version that you can't text non Apple contacts on. only thing it's good for would be watching tv shows or films on the train... How often do you do that?
Cheers bud. Got iPhone 5S and was thinking along the same lines. Was just in PC Worlds killing time looking at them the other day thinking of a spontaneous purchase. Guy come over and asks if I have an iPhone. I tells him I have. He says when's your upgrade/contract renewal due cos you can currently get an iPad free with an iPhone 5C. I tell him it's in a year so nice deal but not one for me. He says lets go and check anyway. I say probably no point mate, like I say there's a year yet to run. But he insists so over to the till we go. Another way to kill time I think. So he checks for me over the phone. This takes an absolute fookin age. He comes back to me. Yeah you've got a year left to run on your contract matey so you're looking at £480 for the iPhone but the iPad will be free. So I walked away. Need to replace my iPhone though as screen has smashed in. Wondering if my insurance will give me a 6 plus if I ask really nicely If I had the 6 plus then there's no way I'd even be considering the Pad as it would be totally unnecessary.
Same happened here, was in currys and they asked same but I said I had over a year left so no point and they left me alone I needed new laptop so was handy to get a cross as the touch screen is useful but I wouldn't go and specifically buy a tablet. Typing on laptops is far easier, although you can get those keyboards that plug in I suppose. Really just depends what you going to be doing on it....
Either staff in Currys aren't trained to be as aggressive as the PC Worlders or I just look gullible as fook If I got and iPad what I'd probably try and do with it is turn it into an out-and-about lightweight, highly portable mini-laptop as you can get Word for them now apparently. Mostly I'd use it at home for media so watching films and listening to tunes in bed, on the sofa and that. I always worry I'll fall asleep with my laptop next me and it'll fall or get knocked off I drowned my last laptop in Coke so have history
Re; keyboard. If you're looking to get a iPad why not get the one with magnetic/Bluetooth keyboards? No plugging in, they just clip together to effectively become a laptop. Me, I wouldn't buy a Apple product at all. Rip of merchants.
