Youre buying a new house? What's wrong with the 26 you already own?

  7. Mine took thirteen weeks to go through but that was because I was intentionally dragging my feet for financial reasons :)

My solicitors were useless, wont use them again

Her brother died so they wanted to put everything on hold which is fair enough as she couldnt deal with it at that time, what I was annoyed about was her partner who was dragging his feet on exchanging contracts to make everything legally binding. She didnt have to do anything, just agree to exchange. That went on for a while then I said well I'll just put it back on the market and eventually contract were exchanged, not until earlier this week though

The house is negative equity so got my fingers burned, no melted more like <doh>

Would it not be better renting them all out until it's worth selling?

No I wanted to get rid, it was being rented out but they left when I put it on the market. We want another house but I wanted to get that one off my hands. We have to sell the one we're living in next as well, so more stress :)

  11. I'm fairly confident I'll be in positive equity now but not been for long. Been in the house nine years too but got 100% mortage at the time. Quite annoying when you work out how much you've paid in mortgage fees and see your mortgage statement <grr>

  13. Did it need tidying up first too then...? Not such a problem keeping it tidy for potential buyers if you're not living there though <laugh>

    100% mortgage? Blimey...

its t's depressing seeing how muh I would pay for my house if continued paying standard amour for next 35 years.. Like nearly 50% more than it's worth <yikes>

It needs a new bathroom, a damp issue (it is an old house though) but all in all its a nice big house the a family could easily live in

It probably needs about 10,000 spending on it

The house we're on in is worth so much more than the one im selling even though the one im selling is quite a lot bigger. If I could pick it up and put it in this area it would have gone for well over twice the amount it has

  18. Yes, very annoying! Because I got 100% mortgage and very few companies offer that at the time (later only then one and now no one does), I wasn't able to shop around and get better deals. I've paid just short of £43k in nine years, my mortgage as gone down from £72,500 to about £66k <laugh>

  19. Didn't have much choice, I needed somewhere to live. If I'd gone to rented it would have taken years to save a deposit so I took the plunge. Actually wanted to do it a couple of years earlier but kept bottling it. annoyingly, the house I bought for £72.5k would have been about £45k-£50k if I had gone for it <grr>
