Calrsberg Special Brew was dedicated to Winston Churchill by the Danes after WWII. True story. Tramps are just patriots. Edit: I did a bungee jump today. Not sure why, but it was for charity, apparently. I wasn't supposed to be doing it; I was supporting my step-brother who was doing it. Then, all of a sudden, I was doing it, and I had to go first. Nobody wanted to go first. Pussies. I did, however, shat myself. Which was nice. There was a young girl who was helping out and she was well fit! My patter didn't really work, though, as I needed an underwear change.
Nice one fella. What charity was it for? If you'd drunk a few tins of Speshy beforehand you'd have a) not **** your pants and b) come up with a witty enough line to pull the fitty
Nice one CCC Wintheleague, queues were bad so only went on Obilivion, Rta + Nemesiss. My wife, brother in law + me went on while my sis looked after the kids (she doesnt like rides) But we were there really for the kids as they have the new cbeebies land which she really enjoyed. Nnext year we're going to go on a weekday so hopefully will be able to go on more, wanted to go on smiler but the queue was 2 hrs ffs
2 hours? Typical. At least you got a few in, always good to have someone there who you know won't go on anything to look after your stuff. Can remember as a kid when I was apprehensive about them, but soon got over that
Yeah 2 hrs, it was amazingly busy I was really pissed off, you have to pay £6 for parking now.. There is no valid reason whatsoever on why you have to do that, they're just robbing you
It's extortionate anyway but pushing an extra six quid onto your ticket/entry price sounds about right. The park isn't bad, probably the best in the UK but compared to say Six Flags or Cedar Point in the US it's gash. They've got no high rides and are extremely pushed for space, plus like you say, if it's really busy that's it... waste of money.
I'd love to go to Six Flags or Cedar Point, both look so good I love rollercoasters, went America last year and went on Manta at Seaworld, but Sheikra at Busch Gardens is by far the best coaster I've been on
We get free tickets though so shouldnt moan really but it is still a rip off Just read your comment about not building above the tree line s that true? They do have high rides, all the coasters go pretty high (nemesiss, smiler etc) and esp oblivion (athough that does go into the floor as well obv)
Call that high?? And none above the tree line!!! Yes it's true. It's to do with planning permission and not interfering with the surrounding views for the residents. High? This is high
I love rollercoasters, for me its not the height or speed though it needs to have an edge. Oblivion terrifies me dangling over that big black whole always takes me back to my youth when i first f**ed a fat bird. terrifying and exiting both in equal measure.
Sheikra is amazing Manta is basically a better version of Air, I like Air so don't get me wrong but Manta is loads better. Kraken is good as well, and ofc the HULKKKKKKKKKK. Ps - America **** on us when it comes to Coasters.
Those are high tbf! Check out Incredible Hulk ride at Universal studios I went on it, is a good one that
Oh didnt seen you'd mentioned Hulk ride already America and Japan they reckon are the best place for roller coasters
6 flags isn't a theme park... it's a chain of theme parks. They have one in Georgia, one in Virginina, one in Texas, and several others not sure where. I've only been to "6 Flags over Georgia" although that was back in my University days... Yes... it is impressive. Not as pretty as Alton Towers, but the rides are by-and-large better. You certainly don't get the rules about not being able to build above the tree line or anything like that! Closer to home we have Carowinds- that's pretty good. Straddles the North Carolina and South Carolina state lines- Of course- it is always a photo op to have your photo taken standing in two states at once! Carowinds is pretty good. Probably not quite as big as 6 flags, but still pretty good. I've always been a fan of the big old fashioned wooden roller coasters- they don't go upside down or twist and turn as much- but the rattling around etc makes them more fun for me.
It was a cancer charity, I think. Macmillan, perhaps? I took the place of someone who had raised the appropriate amount but then had a panic attack and couldn't do it. I got roped into it (pun intended!) by a girl from behind the bar, who volunteered me before I had a chance to refuse. I went first because I figured it's either going to be a) the safest time or b) the most unsafe time. So my sentiment was half cowardice and half self-sacrifice. I was ambivalent. I felt rather sanguine until I saw the drop and the sadistic chap at the top opened the gate for me. I then thought of about 900 ways of chickening out in about 3 seconds flat. Unfortunately, none of them actually played out well in my head, so -- with nothing else formulating in the old brain-pan -- I decided to take a chance on the 200 ft drop and an elastic band on steroids.
