I agree with the luck thing but after nearly 10 years, around £1billion spent, it took a unproven relegation fighting Premier League manager to take the Champions League to Stamford Bridge with a final spot kick from the old guard, Didier Drogba. As soon as he stepped up, I realised it was fate, it was only ever going to be in the back of the net. At the end of the day, to get so far in a competition, to hold out for so long, to beat all the odds (Suspensions, inexperienced manager, playing Bayern on their own turf etc etc.) they managed to come out of the night lifting the greatest Club Cup in the world.. Congratulations Chelsea F.C.
I actually thought it was a really boring final until the last ten minutes of normal time. Both teams looked like they were waiting for penalties in extra time too.
I thought it was fate after they overturned the deficit in the second leg against Napoli. Had similararities to when Liverpool won it having already been in the position of having to win their final group game.
It wasn't the best of finals, well done to chealsea but I would have preffered them to try and play a little, too negative.
Is it me, or is both the Liverpool website and TV channel like a deserted ghost town...? The website just has the occasional link from either non or ex Liverpool players, adverts for the TV station and some crap about website changes. The TV station is just playing old footage over and over. We don't have a board, a DoF or manager, the Euros and Olympics are on this summer and we have players contracts about to run out. Why are we not getting any news...? Now, don't get me wrong, I like the 'Liverpool way' of doing laundry in-house, but normally you still get the odd interview here and there. We are getting nothing, zero, diddly squat!
Following on from my last comment, anyone else feel that we won't have the foggiest who the next manager will be until it is actually announced...? Aka - laundry in house
With England having a squad of players that would be considered a better standard than Liverpool's, does this inadvertently mean that Edgar thinks that the Liverpool side should still be built around Gerrard...? PS - Yep, I twisted that as much as is physically possible
Strange, pre-season can be hard work at times and when you get a drawing comp posted on the club site you know it's a slow news day.
Its not even a test of how well they know the bird, it's stuck in front of them. It's just to see how well they can draw. It's like primary school.
Hogging the limelight and putting pressure on Pearce? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/7770409/Giggs-wants-Becks-reunion
Not sure Fergie would be happy, Giggs and Scholes are an integral part of United's next 5 seasons so keep them from sinking.
