Shouldn't make a difference in getting a new one. Find out from them what the reference would state, most don't confirm reason for leaving, if that's the case you don't need to tell future employees the real reason
Its always easier to find a job whilst in work. The reference can't be negative anyway. Someone recruiting has to read between the lines when looking at a reference; ie, its what they don't say that is the issue. This is why most reference requests have set questions to answer nowadays.
Most big companies, especially if the reference comes from HR give very few details. Most these days confirm job title and employment dates. I work in HR and people on our team request and receive requests every day. A lot of people ask specific questions but unless you go to small private companies you never get them completed, instead receiving the company standard.
That's why I said Enricky didn't need to worry about it as Sainsburys would still be required to provide a positive reference. It's against the law to be negative. Of course, if the new company asked "has the employee ever stolen anything" then he's ****ed as there is much Sainsbury's would be able to put (in their view) but that's not going to happen Worse question would be "Do you consider the employee to be trust worthy" but I'm not entirely sure thats a legitimate question to ask either. We still employ people subject to references but rarely take any notice of them.
You can ask any question you like. We get loads of requests like that but all we confirm is job title and employment dates. Don't confirm any reason for leaving even if specifically asked. I'd think Saisnburys would do exactly the same, just have to make sure they contact HR rather than a local manager who may answer more truthfully!
You do realise I didn't steal? They made at least £1500 quid out of me and my dad, what they have a problem with is that we bought 4 xboxes, when we were only allowed to buy 2 (which I didn't know about) And that we sold some on which we profited out of. I didn't steal nothing, so I'm hoping that as I didn't know it'll just be a warning.
That's why I put "in their view". If you were only allowed two but got four and they believe you did it intentionally, then in their view it is fraud / stealing as you got the second two without paying the full price. I'm sure that won't be the case though, that is the worst case scenario that I was just using as an example for the discussion with IBWT PS...how many more you got to get? I've seen a fair few requests on here since your announcement

Oh that's fair enough then. And no more! It was only £40 cheaper per each xbox, not like loads cheaper
Thought your dad was getting a playstation anyway? Or is that you? Anyway, may the force be with you master ricky
