No buses running in parts of Lancashire last night.................................... they were all 'parked up' at Turf Moor.

I know that Gills fans have been starved of 'forward thinking' football for a very long time - but - last night I watched a game of football (( allegedly )) between Burnley & Leeds..... It was awful.
Burnley had absolutely no intention of deliberately crossing the halfway line. They were the home team riding high, 3rd in the table - on the back of a 5-0 win at Plymouth - and yet - kept virtually all the team inside their penalty area, allowing Leeds onto them - not that they had any real clue how to get past the eleven parked buses...... it was dreadful viewing.

I can only suspect that Burnley's intention was not to lose the game - and rely on other results in the rest of the season to gain promotion to the Premiership........... where I expect they'll park 11 buses on the goal line - to try to prevent conceding a goal........

....... I wonder if the Gillingham buses will manage to turn any of their wheels tonight !

Burnley have caught a disease from The Gills.
I know that probably nobody else ( then me), reads some comments from Burnley fans after their games... Lat night Burnley beat Oxford 1-0.. They moved into 2nd place in the Championship - and extended their run of successive clean sheets to 9. ..............and yet their fans are moaning more than Gills fans.... They think that Burnley are playing boring football ! (( last night they only had 17 shot on goal - with no shots on goal by Oxford. ))

Fans of The Clarets are not happy with a recent lack of goals... so - I suppose they weren't impressed that the winner last night was an own goal... Personally, as things stand, as a Gills fan, I'd be happy to win every game with any type of goal !
....... and I can only try to dream what it might be like to see The Gills in the top 2 places in the Championship.... I bet Burnley's fans wouldn't trade places with me.

Can I expect that Morecambe will be thumped on Saturday !

I am beyond outraged at what I hear from Priestfield - and it must be true - the Manager has had to admit as much !
The day after the Fleetwood defeat, the players thought it was clever to go into the gym and have a song-and-dance session.......and film it for social media !...........are they mad - or just have contempt for the Club, their 'situation' in the league -- and, of course the fans ?? ...what were they doing ? - rehearsing a win celebration ?? - if they had forgotten - how do they think the fans feel ??? - I don't expect too many fans were 'whooping-it-up' on Sunday !

I'm unsure if I am more incensed with the players - or the fact that the management were not 'beasting' them all day Sunday...... The behaviour of the players is inexcusable. The lack of 'managing' their work ethic is also inexcusable.......it's making it very easy for me to call it a day after 62 years .... during which I haven't had too many occasions to sing and dance. ..................anything less than a thumping win against Morecambe - and a lot of bloody hard work, will not be enough for me to consider forgiveness - and continued support.......................................or should I expect no effort expended on goal celebrations ....again ?

brb - it's in the Kentonline..... I know they represent poor journalism - but - the issue is that the incident is confirmed by Coleman -
The story is real.... The relaxed attitude of the players is real - just like the real upset I feel - and I really cannot accept that the players are so stupid as not to realise that exposure of their performance would upset fans ....but if the players had any sense, they would never have conducted themselves in such manner in the first place - when they should have been concentrating on sweating off their testicles on the training pitch - and not having any energy left for a song-and-dance.
What the incident does expose is the crass insensitivity of the players in relation to the angst felt by this fan... For the last 4 or 5 season, I (all fans ), have had bugger-all reason to do a jig...If the players just want to sing-and-dance, they can 'jog on' (( or two other well known words - containing Fs & K )).... otherwise, come the end of the season (( if not sooner )), I won't be around for The Last Waltz.

Its really a nothing story. Its four lads in their early 20s having a laugh in the gym together. It was filmed on Monday so before the loss to Fleetwood and only one of those players were involved in the game. It was a member of the fanbase that decided to post it to social media on Wednesday creating more trouble than it needs to. Honestly if four young lads can't have a laugh together, what is this world coming to?

    Offside.
Today, the referee managed to confuse a lot of people..... No, I'm not talking about his distribution of yellow cards....Nor am I talking about the threat on Hawkins' shirt ! -- no, I refer to a couple of offside decisions against Gills.....
...... where the free kick was taken inside the Gillingham half - much to the displeasure of many Gills fans - who didn't think the referee knew his job!...... alas, on these occasions (( if at no other time )), the referee did know what he was doing.

For clarity - a free kick for offside is taken from the position on the pitch - where the 'offending' player made contact with the ball..... in theory, it conceivably be inside the 'defending' penalty area.......... the free kick is not taken at the 'offside' position - before the player re-entered his own half.

ps - apart from the harsh card for Hutton, I thought the yellow cards for the other Gills players were correct.. in fact, I thought Little was lucky to survive a 2nd yellow........ unfortunately, when it came to giving Bradford the cards they deserved - the referee reverted to being stupid.

Well I am glad he got that right, there was plenty he didn't. One day a ref will be brave enough to actually penalise defenders for holding our attackers, the assault on Nevitt whilst waiting for the throw was as bad as anything i have seen this season the ref had already warned them so at that point he should let the throw be taken and award the penalty, of course he does nothing of the sort and gives a soft free kick the other way when the ball does finally come in. If they actually started giving the penalties maybe the grappling would stop.

I realise that I am biased but Nevitt most of the time just stands his ground, but the refs always talks to both players as if they are equally responsible. I agree about the cards today and Little was very lucky to not a get a 2nd too, he is not actually very good as we are seeing on a fairly frequent basis now.

Asylum seekers....... don't worry about the UK weather - you won't get sunburnt !

Under the political climate that the UK has endured for several years, it's fairly clear that our politicians don't know how to run a tap - let alone the nation's economy....... and further more - it doesn't matter which political 'Party' is in office - none of them seem to know how to resolve various issues - like the abuse of the Benefit system, and especially my particular 'bugbear' - illegal immigrants - or, to be a little fairer to them- economic migrants !

....... I refuse to call these people (( against whom I would not wish any harm )), by the term 'asylum seekers.' - Why ? - because all that they are is an economic migrant. .. These people are not seeking 'asylum.' These people are seeking my tax money !

A genuine asylum seeker - from a country of oppression, would escape into the first 'safe' country and seek ' political asylum.'.... That is how the asylum system is supposed to work. The system is not designed for people to cross many borders - to arrive at Dover with begging bowl in hand...

...I can actually understand that economic migrants can see the attraction of so many freebies (( perhaps they 've come to train up as Politicians. ))..Each and every one of these people are costing £41,000 per year ---- that's one Hell of a black hole that Rachel Reeves is digging !

I don't envy the problems that Reeves - or any Chancellor has in trying to balance the books - but - I do object what she, or any other Chancellor does with my tax money when it's just being thrown away to anyone who claims to be an asylum seeker - and all the time the pensioners and now the 'disabled' are being targeted for 'cuts.'

Reeves claims ( quite rightly ), that the Benefits / Welfare system in this country needs overhauling -- there is too much abuse of public money - and we need to stop false claimants......(( That should really start with Politicians expenses. )) - So - why allow the creation of thousands of more false claimants each year - every time a rubber boat lands on our beaches ?... If the economic migrants knew that they would not receive all the benefits that are thrown at them as soon as they land, I would be staggered if anyone came to the UK - just for the bloody weather !

I endured the worst sunburn of my life in this country in 2023. Both of my arms burned so much that they created multiple blisters which subsequently all burst when I next participated in some sport. Where you ask? Only the destination of our new manager's previous team, Shrewsbury.

It could have been worse -(( like for Martin Allen - whilst still in Shrewsbury after a Gills game )), you could have received a text message from your boss telling you ''You're fired'' ! ......... that's a proper 'burning' !

    Come on you greens !
What an absolute nonsense that Gills had to play in green today... I don't think the Wimbledon 2nd strip was too much of a colour clash..... but - if any team had to play in green today, surely it should have been AFC -- just like Gills had to at Millwall a few years ago.........

..... or are AFC going to be allowed to do this with every club who play in Blue & White ((( and there are several in L2. )))

..... judging by what they did in the warm-up it appears that Winbledon actually do-as-they=please !!! Why were they allowed to warm-up using the main goal at the Town end - leaving the 'practise ' goal redundant ? This was disrespectful - and GFC need to address the issues ( kit etc ) for next season.

Amazing the differences subtle psychological changes can make, it was probably all just coincidence, but maybe we should play in Green in our remaining games. I know Pochettino believes in "energía universal" (universal energy) - I'm sort of along similar lines myself, positve energy will bring positive outcomes, it's why I always hate it when things in the past have ever been negative, anyway thankfully we got our fair rub of the green today...ok i'll get my coat lol

I totally agree with all of this, with the exception of the Gills needing to address the kit issue the football league has to ensure that 'away' strips are fit for purpose and that there are no colour clashes. When teams have 3 kits there is absolutely no reason for this to happen and whilst the league made a fairly sensible decision to enable the game to be played I think that AFC should be advised that if was to happen again they will be fined.
