I think it is a very misleading report. It states school but does not quantify what it means by that, nursery or infant. It appears it may be a mix of the two, what percentage of those children were at nursery school. How many Children are at each of those 18 schools and what does this relate to in percentage terms.

Seriously short of me swearing at these lazy journalists, they need to find something better to write about than bringing further ridicule on the kids affected. Both parents are forced to go out to work these days, so do they want to break the information down in to further segments as in which children come from working families and which one's come from at home parents. There are many reasons why a young child may being wearing a nappy, maybe if I went and kicked that journo in the balls, he might feel the need to wear one as well.

The quote says it all...

One school told us they had to replace the carpets in two classrooms”

I would say that the report refers to children entering primary school - usually at 5 years of age. When my boys went to nursery school ( aged 30 months to just prior to primary school ), it was expected that each child was 'dry' & toilet trained.
I suppose that it is possible that all the children involved may have an underlying medical condition - that would make their incontinence unremarkable. The report should clarify this point. The inferrence is otherwise.
I would hope that each child has had as much help and support from their parents as is possible. If any of the children have not got any medical condition to explain their circumstances, it would be very easy to suspect that the parent(s) haven't done enough to see that the child is properly toilet trained.

Agoraphobia - I'd like to recommend it to idiot motorists

Agoraphobia may have some appeal - the way things are going !
Today I was driving in a minor road, following a car that was slowing down to a snails pace. I suspected the driver was looking for a parking place, which were not too plentiful as there were cars parked on both sides of the road - except where there were dropped kerbs for front driveways. I wasn't in a hurry so I patiently 'followed' the car ( not that there was any room to overtake .) I then saw the car activate its' right hand indicator, and started to venture towards that side of the road. I saw a large space for which 'the car in front' was aiming. The car went fully into this space, and stopped parallel to the kerb.
I did what I thought was normal. As the car crossed the centre of the road, I started to manoeuvre my car to pass on the nearside of 'the car in front.' My speed was about 15 mph ( at most ). I had reached almost level with the rear of the now ' parked ' car when, without warning or indication it suddenly moved again - not forwards, but across the face of the road, inches away from the front of my car (as I slammed on my brakes).
I sounded my horn to alert the driver to my existence - but it did not stop. It completed its' mission - which was to enter a driveway on the nearside of the road.
It probably wasn't any surprise to me that the driver didn't see me as this 'broadside' manoeuvre was being conducted - because, I could see that during this manoeuvre, incredibly, the driver's head was turned away from my direction ! It was only when the driver had finished parking in the driveway that I got any recognition - displaying an expertise in the use of hand 'signals' ( one finger variety .)
I might just stay indoors until 3rd., August. It might be safer.
Have you noticed that I have deliberately not told you the sex of the driver.

I bet you didn't know your local chinese takeaway had Ratatouille on the menu ?

What's nearly as bad - the Chinese are not bothering to 'humanely' kill the rodents .......

instead they're not going to do anything about their poor level of air quality in their cities - hoping to choke the rats!

If you want ???? press 1.
The dreaded “recorded message”
So on Thursday afternoon last week my phone and broadband decided to die, with no phone I have to use my mobile to contact the engineers and report the fault, so far so good, until the dreaded recorded message starts my blood pressure rising.

Calls to 0800 numbers will incur a charge from mobile phones and we advise using a land line, well come and repair the **** land line and I will.

So next we get through to the “if you want this press 1” “if you want that press 2” until after 5 choices I press a number and get through to “if you want this press 1” “if you want that press 2” where did all the real people go?

Eventually having pressed buttons until my finger is numb I get the message “we are experiencing high volumes of calls, your call is important to us (yer right) we will get to you as soon as possible” Then if that isn’t bad enough “you can avoid waiting by getting help online at” no , no, no, I can’t get online or use the land line, remember all those press this, and that, and god knows what else questions, I pressed all the way through until I reach “if you have a problem with” now please give me a real person!

<yikes><yikes><yikes>
I did get to speak to a real person in the end, but that’s another story.

As far as I am concerned the telephone is one of the most anti social inventions. It 'demands' attention - that you stop what you're doing - stop engaging with the person in your company, etc.
In Feb 1996 we were playing at Cambridge ( 0-0) ( we had 2 players sent off ) After the game, I took my sons to a fish & chip shop for some food for the journey home. We were kept waiting for ages after our order (& money) had been taken. The staff kept on answering the phone and taking orders which were being delivered by somebody on a moped. After nearly 30 minutes - and after the phone had rung for the umpteenth time, I swore at the members of staff - demanding that they deal with the customers in the shop & threatened to rip out their phone unless I got service. ( not one of my better displays of parental role model )

WINDYROG -
I doubt if it would solve the problem whereby you are held in a queue............... Have you tried to get tickets over the telephone for a 3rd round cup game " You are at position 11,584 !

And she 'stole' funds for home furniture.
And she has been reinstated to her post.

At least she hasn't been accused of 'fiddling' with the kids !

If she ever changes her career - may I suggest she goes into politics - think of all those lovely expenses that she can 'tuck into.'

My mother never had any trouble walking my brother to school. In his first year of primary school she would take him in a push chair <yikes>.
He would make her drop him off close to school - obviously to save him embarrassment from his peers.

His laziness didn't improve when he started work. My mother would get up early and cook him breakfast - during which she would dry his hair with a hairdryer after he had showered. ( thank goodness he was toilet trained by then ).

You should have been at his wedding reception - it was priceless

My brother's 'best man' asked me if I had any 'dirt' on my brother that he could use in his speech....
Everyone ( except two people ) were wetting themselves at the disclosures. My sister-in-law was looking for a quickie divorce & my mother actually hung her head so low with the shame, that she nearly disappeared under the table.

Stupid woman lucky not to get shot. I assume it is the same level of security as it is just up the road at Downing St. Every copper carries some scary looking gun. Plus she would never of got over the ramps anyway.

Before you click the link, I have to point out :

I am genuinely saddened at what sometimes happens in the world

The poor woman was subject to an extreme form of supermarketrage - I know the D.I.Y tills can be a little frustrating - but I always try to stay calm & not get hacked off.

& The world has gone mad - when you can get butchered to death for wearing the 'wrong' T shirt in Woolwich.

I don't often speak out about politics unless it is football based but on this occasion I will make an exception. Quite simply the police could have saved the NHS, justice system, prison system a hell of a lot of tax payers money yesterday for the cost of two bullets. One to each head of those 'mad men'. Never did I think I would live to see the rivers of blood on the streets of Woolwich. Every decent law abiding citizen of this country will no doubt once again be subject to useless policies to protect our freedom, while still failing to eradicate the problem. What has happened since 9/11 and heightened world security if you can not walk safely down a street wearing a help the heroes top. It just demonstrates the problem is already living amongst us. The silent enemy within and the most dangerous enemy. Sarcasm intended in that at least we can fly safely to our destination but once on the ground you are subject to the next nutter in the UK. Sadly people's attentions were side tracked by about 150 individuals which seemed to grab more social media (twitter) and TV air time, than actually condemning these men, why is that and before you answer, how sick have we become as human beings to stand witness, video and photo such events as if watching a TV movie. This is not about whether these individuals were black, white, muslim, christian, terrorists or just complete nutters, these individuals need to be eradicated from our streets along with any disease they may wish to verbally spread, there should be no division. I know there are radicals in this country and I ask if they visit your place of worship, then make sure the relevant authorities are informed, don't just think because they have moved on they are no longer your problem, they are every citizens problem.

Rant over.

brb I think the word you was looking for is 'disease' - alas I think that your unwitting spelling mistake may be nearer to the fact.

Of course the 99.99% ( or more ) of the rest of us will now be subjected to more security measures that will only make 'our' lives more of a misery - especially just ahead of the holiday season - when, as you say, the terrorists won't be touched.

RIP to the Woolwich soldier. It's hard to believe that even in these civilised times, absolute Barbarians still walk among us. Not surprised the EDL were out in force last night, the nature of the British public is to stand up to anyone who tries to attack us. I won't say my views on the subject apart from ask this question I wonder how many people will start voting BNP?

The whole family are awaiting the birth of the baby throwoff, yesterdays events make me so sad and worried for the future. What have we come to when we are videoing murderers on our streets and giving thier rants a voice on national TV?

RIP to the soldier and a long life to rot in a proper prison for the scum who did it
