And when he’d dusted himself off and removed the studs from his shins george climbed back on top of Mary Stavin while Paul pulled out his bingo card and shouted two fat ladies
Okay, far too much crowing on here. Job not anywhere near done yet. Absolutely a bloody long way to go yet. Let's see where we end up before we start bragging. Enjoying the ride so far but tough game coming up, which in all honesty I can't see us getting a point in. Keep quiet as if it goes wrong there are literally loads of fans from other clubs waiting to rub our noses in ****.
Do we remain calm with our feet firmly on the ground or just ride it and enjoy it. We might not get promoted and we might suffer a disaster and suffer a terrible run. No use fearing something we can’t control and being fed up as it “might happen”. WJ posted the other day that he doesn’t feel we’re ready for the PL, I kind of agree but then again I don’t believe we ever will be and how do you define ready? I started thinking (if we reach the PL) how we might occupy the relegation slots all next season and a win might be a rare commodity but what’s the point, I’m just going to enjoy where we are now, top of the league just a few days before Christmas and on Christmas Day the autos minimum. On the flip side I still don’t believe Rads is here for the PL ride (if and when it arrives) and I’m hoping he isn’t. I’m sure he will cash in and sell us to the next Billionaire who will throw money at us so we can compete with Man City and Chelsea
Yeh let people enjoy the ride. Having said that... Personally. I think the bielsa way, which is as much a way of life as it is s footballing philosophy has a **** or bust element to it. For all the fans love him and the players respect him and adhere to his methods...both are reliant on results. Lose 6 on the bounce and those wonderfully idiosyncratic press conferences will be seen as clueless irrelevant riddles by the fans. And the players who tolerate a diet of lettuce and lentils and boot camp training sessions are less likely to toe the line if they’re getting humped on a Saturday. Football is a results business so what I’ve just described applies to all managers to a degree but I think it’s likely exaggerated with bielsa. So we just have to keep winning so we never find out!
I did say I’m enjoying the ride. Love winning so many games and being six points clear of third. I’m just not into the bragging that “this is our year” or that we are nailed on for the very reason you say, there are a lot on unknowns out of our control that could bite us on the arse. I’ll be crowing if / when we are seven points clear of third with two games to play
I agree, in here I'll express my thoughts good or bad but outside of the forum I say very little, just that we are enjoying a little bit of form.
All true. You could have said the same about Don Revie, he had some really weird things. We’ve all seen managers who were superstars allegedly, fall flat on their face at a new club. But I’m going to carry on Believing there's a point to most of what he does and it’s no coincidence we are getting the results
Never said I didn’t believe fella. What he has done with this bunch is remarkable and that will stand even if our season falls away. Which by the way, I don’t think it will.
I watched and listenend to a load of Bielsa's interviews today, mainly from when he was with Bilbao, but also a lot of interviews with players who have played under him and other managers, mainly argentinian. The guy is totally amazing, his philsophy in football, basically attack, win the ball back attack again, and his thoughts on life in general are very refreshing and humble, especially nowadays when most footballers are worried about their cars, bling etc. He has my total backing. . If he is Ortas signing,it's the best one he made,so far. Let us for once enjoy the wind of change and ride the fiery breeze that is Leeds United. M.O.T.
I saw my 1st Leeds Utd game in 1967. A 3-2 win over Rotherham in the old League Cup. To me that great Leeds team under Revie was the 1st Leeds United We had to wait until 1989-90 to see the 2nd Leeds United The team that Wilkinson took to the title in 1991/92 Still the last Englishman to manage the champions of England I regard O'Leary as managing the 3rd Leeds United So close to the title Champions League semis Will Bielsa lay claim to managing the 4th Leeds United ?
I’m liking your thinking poly... let’s erase all the sh*t Leeds uniteds from our memories. Works for me.
