Just had a quick look at results this season compared to last.

We've played a game more at the same stage of the season this time round (I think because we moved a game to accomodate the League Cup, or was there a game cancelled because of weather?).

It makes interesting reading and reflects what we were asking for last season, going for wins and risking a loss, reflected in far fewer draws.

For all our views on needing another striker, we've actually scored 10 more goals this time round but conceded 4 more as well suggesting we need to look at defense rather than attack.

Year W D L PTS F A
2012 17 2 6 53 47 29
2011 11 9 4 42 37 25

The most significant thing about the comparison is we're where we are as much as a result of not drawing so many games as anything else. Yes, we've lost a couple more and dropped a point a game, but we've also won some more and gained 2 points per game.

Just a couple of draws this season compared to 9 by this time last year equates to a potential 14 point difference. It demostrates the importance of 3 point results.

I still say we need a targetman. We have Helga who cannnot play for a whole game and although he scored yesterday how often did Rudy actually head the ball or hold it up. For a youngster, Bellars put him to shame when it comes to tracking players down or breaking up attacks. Rudy is a potential talent for the future but is not a viable replacement or starting striker. Sorry.

No need to be sorry - 100% agree.

I think he left under a bit of a cloud so don't see him returning. Not sure he'd add to the current crop of players. Too like HH, just not as good in the air.
