Today's Russian Soyuz launch had to be terminated after a second stage failure. An emergency landing had to be undertaken. Reports are saying that both of the crew are fine, but it'll be a while before they can be reached. Good news for all concerned. <ok>

<laugh> Oh bloody hell, honestly don't know what to think about any of that. It was hardly fair to put this particular caller on, surely? He was a sitting duck for the Atheist Panel of Experts? A right stumbling old fogy, heck, even I might have done a better job than that!

Well, the sun argument commands a lot of respect, but it is not the answer to everything. One could argue that a Christian religious person (not me, I only class myself as agnostic, I just don't know) gets his or her batteries charged-up for a full week after morning service on a Sunday. Buddhists, after a chanting spree with the monks, Muslims after praying 5-times a day with their apparatus pointing towards Mecca, Hindus a good wash in the Ganges, or elsewhere, etc., etc.

The truth is, of course, no one knows, not even the learned and scientific atheists, they certainly don't convince me either. What to do? Answer, just carry on at the bookies; a not very satisfactory solution, but the occasional gambler is lucky in a way. :emoticon-0100-smile

Strange that you should mention the bookies Swanny. I've been thinking of having my first bet in quite a while. I'm sort of warming to an animal called Viddora in the AU$13,000,000 The Everest. She's about 20-1 at the moment and I'm beginning to salivate. <laugh>

I'll probably chicken out.

It's estimated that the observable diameter of the universe is about 93 billion light years. It's freakin' huge. It's said that it's not possible for a human being to get his - her head around the enormity of it all, but the vid below might help a little.

Every spot in the video is galaxy containing billions of stars. And of the 93 billion light years that we know of, the clip only depicts 2 million light years of them. Remember, every dot is a galaxy containing billions of stars.

Similar sort of thing but these are microbes in the human body. There are about 40 trillion microbes in the human body (depending on size of the body). I wonder what they think their universe is
