Bollocks, he just can't spell 'humane' or use upper case letters when required, or indeed place a comma in the right place. Sense of fun my arse.

Glamorgan, get off your high horse. We have been dealing with this semi-literate fool for too long now.
His postings were so pathetic that almost everyone replied in similar vein. In fairness to jh,he entered
into the spirit of things, and everyone had a good laugh.
So,you clearly are unaware of the history,we do have fun, making fun of him,but he also finds it amusing.
Unfortunately,he can be a bit irritating at times.
It's sad that you appear to be such a humourless individual, but that's your problem.

Vetch - Indeed, I am unaware of your loveless marriage with JH as I so seldom visit your pages. However, I think you'll find that it was the original poster who was on a high horse when it came to grammar and the like. I was merely pointing out that people in glass houses. . . oh **** it, it's a waste of time. Big bastard yawn.

GLAMorgan- Half capitals half lower case !! hmm..

I will make a point of using the English language correctly if it makes you happy :)

You obviously do have a sense of fun after all :)

PS, you will have to explain in which context you think im using the comma wrong. (me very stupid )

"In general, the comma is used where ambiguity might otherwise arise, to indicate an interpretation of the text such that the words immediately before and after the comma are less closely or exclusively linked in the associated grammatical structure that they might be otherwise. The comma may be used to perform a number of functions in English writing. "

Did you note the word Ambiguity GLAMorgan ? i guess i dont need to explain what it means but what the hell eh !

"Ambiguity is a term used in writing and mathematics, and under conditions where information can be understood or interpreted in more than one way "

Oops, guess your wrong when you said "or indeed place a comma in the right place" turns out there isnt a right place mate :)

"or use upper case letters when required " ha ha ha .... GLAMorgan !!! love it :)

Further generations of John Hughs is a very scary thought Sussex !!

" I was merely pointing out that people in glass houses. . . " GLAMorgan.

Terrible use of upper and lower case in your name. im just merely pointing that out you understand.

People in glass houses indeed ... :)

PS GLAMorgan . Just to let you know "glass houses " should indeed start with a Capital G not lower case g :)

Well Scottswan im no expert as you know , but place names normally start with a capital letter .
GLAMorgan was refering to standing in a Glasshouse and throwing stones wasnt he ??

my view is that a Glasshouse would have a capital letter.

"Words that express a connection with a particular place must be capitalized when they have their literal meanings. "

    www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/department/docs/punctuation.

    "

Again, all open to how you interpretate the English language dont you think ?

Never ever bother with making a point about how people type on internet forums,it defeats the opject of having fun . my light hearted thread is obviously being taken far too serious ,but im all for having banter about the mundaine if thats what gets people off :)

    I like The Oxford Comma.

Glamorgan, when you write "Big bastard yawn",I assume you are referring to yourself, indicating a certain degree of boredom.

Since you "seldom visit" this Board,I guess we'll never really know.

<party>:emoticon-0169-dance Right, given that you're so determined that I join in again, here I am. Here's my argument - I promise I shall then **** off, for good. Firstly, your use of commas and fullstops; it's not so much your grammatical use, rather your needless space bar at the end of a word , like that , oh and anotherone), you see. Ditto full stops . Oops, another. It's simply scruffy, as is not using capital letters at the beginning of sentences, unless it's a typo of course. As for my name, do my a favour, I could call myself '&*$%&organ' on a messageboard. And as for 'glass houses'. Yes, 'literal meanings' not a metaphorical 'glass house' - unless of course, you live in one. Even then I would argue against it. When in a hole.

I don't give a **** generally, but you had a go at the bloke's spelling. You'll be delighted to know that I plan to **** off now. You will, no doubt, be equally delighted to learn that I will not return, for I know that I presented my 'case' (no pun intended) in a way that will, no doubt, convince Norway. . . that I was right.

GLAMorgan,I don't think anyone was "determined" that you "join in again". You are free to do so regardless of anyone's determination. This is an open forum, you know.
You exhibit a complete lack of humour,as you used to on the Glamorgan Board last season,if my memory is correct.
John Hughes is a figure of fun hereabouts, even some of your Cardiff colleagues find him an embarrassment. His posts are usually full of errors,be they grammatical,or spelling.Consequently,some/most of the replies to his postings were produced in a similar style.
This is not an English language training course, and, consequently, errors of grammar, spelling, etc.,are not frowned on. You may get the mick taken out of you, however. Just ask JH.
So you leave in high dudgeon, well, that's a sad reflection on you,but does rather confirm the point I made earlier.
I'm not exactly sure what case you presented, since this is a sports forum and not a Law Court.
I'm sure of one thing, however, you WILL be back. You people simply cannot stay away.
