The Saints Advent Calendar

I am beginning to feel that someone had a really good idea in the marketing department, but then someone in accounts/commercial got hold of it and ruined it

Marketing: "Hey, here's an idea, let's do an online advent calendar for the fans"
Accounts: " yes, great, we can use it to entice fans to buy stuff"
Marketing: "I was thinking more along the lines of some fun for the fans and kids, you know player interviews, players being silly, players singing carols and entertaining the fans and maybe wearing/holding/showing some cool Saints gear?"
Accounts: "?"
Marketing: " you know, a way of communicating to the fans in a subliminal way that makes them think - Saints/Christmas/Fun/Buy something"
Accounts: "subliminal communication?"
Marketing: " yes, be fun and enjoyable with Saints - then they buy into our brand and spend money"
Accounts: "Mmm, let me think about that and get back to you"

3 days later

Accounts: "We've had a three day brainstorm in the accounts department and come up with something fantastic"
Marketing: "great, what is it"
Accounts: "Let's show an advert with a % off something that most fans already have and then repeat that every other day... that'll do it"
Marketing: *writes resignation letter*

 

They should have tagged adverts onto fun stuff... identify players wearing Father Christmas costumes...stuff like that. The advert shouldn't be the only thing. However, it isn't costing me anything, so I'll just have to enjoy every other day.

 

I wanted it to be another advert for headphones

 

Can you imagine what the "Blue few" Advent calendar would be like?

Thank you. Call me old-fashioned, but looking ahead on an Advent Calendar has always been taboo in my family, and even if some people like yourself don't have the same issue, there is no need to post whatever is coming up, as the link is in the OP for people to visit when they wish. Rant over.

 

And as I have already mentioned, no spoilers please. That means, no spoilers... please, and it's probably better for all concerned if nobody makes an interpretation of what they consider to be a spoiler. Just don't allude to anything. I apologise for being so heavy handed about it, but there you go.

To be honest I am finding the "fun" element somewhat underwhelming at the moment.
