Issue is, if DC goes back to basics and start defending from the front in an attempt to make it harder for the opposition to score then that will stop us scoring as many goals as we are doing, which we dont want to see happening.

We just need better defenders and keeper. The defenders need a good keeper behind them which will give the defence confidence and the keeper will get confidence from knowing he has a strong defence in front of him. Unfortunately, my opinion is both defenders and keeper have no confidence in each other which creates individual mistakes and the higher league we are in, these mistakes gets punished, which we have seen. No manager can train a player from making mistakes. The only thing the manager can do is bring in better players in defence and keeper. I like Lockyer and been great in the last 2 seasons. But he has struggled this season. I was delighted for him to get the captains armband but I think its too much for him now. He will greatly improve if he didnt have this responsibility. If DC can bring in a strong experienced CB who is a good leader can give Lockyer his game back taking all the pressure off of him and we will see a better Lockyer from it. Brown has played pretty much every game over the last 3 seasons. He needs a good rest. Get a good LB in.

I think Leadbitter at RB, a regenerised Lockyer at CB along side a new CB with bags of experience and a leader and a new LB with pace and can cross and can also defend too of course will be just what we need. A younger version of McChrystal (say 27-30) and more pace would be perfect for Lockyers game. Then add a good experienced keeper like when we 1st signed Mildenhall. A good name well known keeper who would automatically give us confidence. IF DC can get that done, we will be fine and will easily finish top 10 and could even be top 6.

    Just my opinion though.

IMO DC should send Lockyer out on loan to a team in Division 2 he's made so many mistakes this yet keep his place the same with Brown DC's to grow a pair and dropped them it will help in the long run.

A couple of leaders at the back - experienced old heads - and we would be flying. That Bolger look good...

I think we've missed Clarke-Salter. He is a class act. Agree that Lockyer is currently having a tough time of things.

Hartley's leadership qualities have arguably also been missed in the last 2 away games, but you can't legislate for the kind of individual errors at Walsall. Funny thing is, two of those mistakes were made by midfielders, not the back four.

I still think there was a tug on Byron Moore's arm for the third...
