Just heard that on 5 Live. A cut throat business.

Wonder who they have lined up...........
Looks like Alex Neil from Sunderland.

Bit of a surprise, why leave a bigger club to go to Stoke?

Sunderland have given permission so they must be confident they can do better/ get someone else in too.

Isn't that called ambition?
Quite possibly yes but I just don’t get a manager being sacked after 5 games and it’s not like they’ve been thrashed in those 5 games. They’re a mid table team who appear to think they are bigger than they really are and so just throw a pre season and planning down the pan in order to ‘steal’ a manager from another championship team.

Ah right. So you think it's a vanity exercise?

A bit 'arsh I feel....he got them up so mught have deserved a slightly longer run....unless he has fallen out with owners and their approach? Not sure how well he was supported to bolster the squad etc.
Every interview with him he was bemoaning the lack of signings.

It wasn't the result that did for him, it was his remarks afterwards. He spoke the truth and paid the price.

Never particularly liked him but I think he's an honest sort of guy the same as he was in his playing career - hard but fair.
