Rafa's family are Liverpool based. He’d go to Everton in a blink, especially with the massive budget and the uncertainty about the ownership up the road.
Mourineho or whatever he's called at Manure might be looking over his shoulder after today's result....not.
His family live near to where I do (though in a slightly larger house!) on the Wirral. If he was offered anything north-west (including Stoke) you'd have to imagine he'd take it. Couldn't blmae him either, he's a family man (as are most) and the opportunity to go home to your own house after work each day whilst still getting paid a good wage etc. Liverpool fans still speak very fondly of Rafa and respect him, plus the rivalry between Everton and Liverpool is mostly amicable (not like Liverpool- Man Utd); I reckon most Liverpool fans wouldn't think less of him for going there anyway. All he would have to do is say something like "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work again in this great city which has a special place in my heart" and both sides of the city would be happy. Easy. If I was a betting man I'd have a flutter on it. Chances are Koeman will go, chances are Everton will want an established manager with Premiership experience to replace him; chances are Ashley would release him for a few million and gamble on us being safe anyway.
I’d imagine that Rafa has control over release from his contract in any way, he’s always been that kind. If he was going anywhere you’d think it’d be Everton. You’d deffo think that he’s high on their list of Koeman goes.
Inevitable that he goes. You can see he’s beat but he won’t walk cos he’ll want his massive compensation package.
You must be talking bout a heavy bag on your back son, as a Mackem who lives in Newcastle I’m fully aware you all have tiny penises compared to us. Urinal sweeps don’t lie son
BBC reckon Moyes is a strong contender for the job which would be absolute insanity. Mind you they've also got an article saying Benitez could win the league with Newcastle so they're obviously on some industrial strength crack.
Garth Crooks on BBC yesterday said Newcastle could win the league if he was given the resources! **** sake, anyone could win the league given the right resources!
Except Rafa, his mantle piece isn't exactly littered with PL winners medals from his time at Liverpool where he spent an absolute fortune. 230m he spent in 6 seasons(incredible amount at that point in time) including players like Torres, Mascherano and Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea are estimated to have spent well over £100m in one season back in 2003/2004 (like £120-150m) and carried on with some pretty hefty sums afterwards. £230m in 6 seasons was a lot but I would be surprised if it made the top 2/3 squad values in the league. That said they should have won the league that season and the "facts" interview he gave in the January was like a painfully toned down version of Keegan. I'm struggling to think of a more successful manager either of our clubs have had in the last few decades though, maybe Robson but there's an "apples and pears" situation going on.Benitez is far from perfect but he's a gazillion times better than who we'll get to replace him when he leaves for greater things.
