Exactly Arsenal are a good example they are still scoring a lot of goals they are just not feeding the ball to RVP. Obviously they are weaker without him just like we would be but the goals would still come.
no one criticizing Welbeck here .. I think he is great in what he is offering us .. but the argument that if it wasn't RVP, we would had scored anyway is not really valid for at least 50% of his goals ..we have to appreciate what he give us, to say nnahh we would had scored those goals even without him is first not true and secondly not fair for all the classy goals RVP kept giving us up till now .. hope he stays fit though
Form is temporary though, that said other than a couple ofnotably bad games I actually think Rooney has been playing wel. He's just not playing as the focal point of our attack and as a result not scoring as many goals, but his games haven't been bad. You take RVP out of the team and make Rooney the focal point of attack again and the odds are he'd score a lot more goals. I think we're a stronger team with Rooney and RVP in the side though but I don't think we'd be miles off where we are now without him though. You have to remember that we lost the title on goal difference alone without him last year and that was after a couple of major and unexpected screw ups late in the season.
