With both Southgate and the Brazil head coach at the game today, it may be fewer players getting a rest than it would have been at the start of the month...
whatever the boss does he has my full support. I think he will let a few fringe players get a run out. These fringe players, under Eddie though will be better than most PL teams I’d surmise.
Same team for me. Only Chelsea game after it till wc break. I actually fancy our chances in this competition this year.
I was meaning the League Cup mate, sorry. Still a bit dizzy from whats happening at NUFC and then the bairns got his first goal today for Ashington after I told him to channel his inner Miggy
Its weird watching games between the big 6 and the relegation candidates and realising that the latter winning now suits us better.
Think it'll be interesting to see the line ups in the next 3 games. Soton - I expect bar Joelinton (suspended) the same team to start - Murphy or ASM to come in for him? Palace - Cup game and I think there may be some rotation here - if ASM only gets 20-30 mins in the previous, maybe in line for a start vs Palace, same with Shelvey maybe for Bruno. Others who may get a run out - Wood - keep Wilson fir for Chelsea but he may want to play as he eyes the WC, Targett would be a good shout as he needs game time, Anderson and or Murphy maybe and Joelinton will back in and play for sure. Chelsea - need our strongest starting XI out.
We can cope tbh - Bruno is God, and Longgy and Willock on form so midfield is sorted. Likely thing is Murphy replaces for Soton. Don't risk ASM coming straight into line up for Soton, maybe start him and Joelinton again vs Palace. Soton are Bad, but have somehow scraped enough points together to be put of the drop zone, but I can see them heading that way. Get Joelinton and ASM back into the team for Palace and we've got a decent chance. Likely Wood, Fraser and Lacelles also start this one I guess. Full strength/starting XI vs Villa for Chelsea. Then chiiiiiilllll.
We've still got Anderson as well. We've won matches with more influential players out than Joelinton. Wilson is on a mission for Qatar. Almiron is on fire. Bruno is incredible. Looking forward to this one.
We should also have a statue of a giant hat in recognition of the services of Mick O'Toon and Jokinere in helping the club's transformation.
