Broadly speaking, the current team would do okay in the Championship.

My reasoning is that it's a young side, that lacks the streetwise experience skills needed against teams set up like Barton or Evans sides, but has the ability to beat footballing sides.

You can use clubs or clubs' in this context as it refers to a number of clubs. Hope you didn't think it should have been club's.
