As well as Huddersfield and Palace joining Brighton and West Ham on the very edge of survival (without yet crossing the finish line), what today has also done is to really end any chance (not that there was one anyway, in my view) of us being safe going into the City game. It surely also means that a defeat on Monday night for Stoke, and they can be written off.
The answer is 4 points behind Everton (33 games played) in 16th 1 point behind Charlton (32 games played) in 17th 1 point behind Blackburn (32 games played) in 18th We had 30 pts (33 games played)... we're screwed...
Your running out of games to win, and looking at your fixtures, only the Bournemouth game looks feasible for you, Everton away will be tough as the Toffees have been strong at home most of this season, we have two tough games coming up, where you could close the gap, but you will need to beat Leicester to gain some confidence, I just don’t see you doing it, even with your much improved form, though it is certainly possible
We've had zero points with our improved form, so I'd suggest we are now officially toast. But, shed no tear for us, most of our team & fans have become far too complacent, and the Championship will give us a reminder of where we once came.
That's what i'm looking forward to the most HR, the supporters reconnecting with the team. It has already started recently tbf.
If its not a top club or one who looks like challenging the top ones I would hope we could persuade him to give us one season and give him the captaincy.
Latest odds from Betfair translated to % chances of relegation: 84.3% Stoke 62.3% Southampton 16.9% Huddersfield 16.9% Swansea 4.9% C Palace 5.1% West Ham 8.5% Brighton 0.2% Newcastle Vin
Re-connecting with this team is kind of pointless as majority won't be here next year. I agree with the general point though
Lots of paper talk starting about him already. And he is getting on the fringes of the England squad. If he wants to be an international player he won’t want to play in the championship and there will be clubs that would want him.
Will be a real, real shame if we lose JWP. He is just starting to become the player we know he can be. He has been one of the only positives this season. McCarthy and JWP are the only players that come out with any credit really.
I actually think a season in the Championship could be the making of JWP. He may not see it that way though, obviously. But a team built around him, with Sims, Targett, Stephens and McQueen getting regular football could provide them all with the perfect opportunity.
