I'd wager that I've watched more games than you've had hot dinners tbh. You're simply not being objective with your overview of that game, as your comments about it have been one eyed & inaccurate. It was an even contest between 2 evenly matched sides, that either could have won, but neither did, as they both have the same deficiency - the lack of a truly top drawer striker.

I'm not sure that my like or dislike of hot dinners has anything to do with the discussion.

We had this same thing with the Norwich guys after the game with them. Both sets of fans are going to think that their team did the best. I doubt we are going to resolve this.

Other than that, I see our own fans criticizing Giroud for not finishing well enough on several chances they think he should have put away, and I cant think of a decent chance that Anichebe had. So while I'll conceed that Giroud is not RVP (yet), he is 1000% better than Anichebe. You should also realize that we have scored the most home goals in the PL, so our goal scoring is quite OK, thank you.

I'm giving my view on the game, which was that Everton did a pretty good destructive job, but creatively they were very conservative. Personally, I think it was bad management by Moyes. I don't think a draw there did Everton any good. Everton really needed to have a go at us.

Interesting enough, even one of your own pretty much shares my view of the game: http://www.royalbluemersey.com/2013/4/17/4233938/arsenal-v-everton-tactical-analysis-throwback-game

I'm with Big Bird, not sure what game you were watching but for the opening 20/25 Everton were spraying the ball around and had you penned in your own half, with the best chance falling to Pienaar. The 2nd half was the opposite, with Arsenal applying all of the pressure but couldn't finish. Anichebe and Giroud are not CL quality strikers and that was the problem throughout. For all your criticism of Everton the best chance of the match fell to an Everton player (Pienaar) and the closest we came to a goal was via an Everton player (Barkley).

I edited in a link to an Everton analyst that also thought Everton were destructve. As for your views on the best chances of the game, if that were true, why is Giroud getting so much stick from our fans for not scoring, if he had no decent chances? I remember a header rolling off the bar, which I think was better than either of the chances you mention, and that wasn't the best of them. Ox was clean through and opted to pass, , Giroud put one wide sliding in, Cazorla had one shot on target, Gibbs missed a shot at least as good as Barclay's or Pinaars, Giroud skied a shot from 8 yards out onthe turn.

On top of that there were several blocked shots and nasty moments in the box for Everton. Saying that Everton had the best chances is ludicrous.

That'll be why their goalscoring ratios are similar this season then eh?

    Giroud - 32 league games - 11 goals
    Anichebe - 21 league games - 6 goals

As Drogs has pointed out, we came the closest to scoring via Barkley & the there was only 2 other good chances in the game, Pienaar's early on & the 'fabulous' Giroud, missing an open goal with Howard nowhere.

It was an even game daft lad, the stats back that up, as I said earlier you're just blinkered by your love of the Gooners.

    Come on Fulham!

I agree that it was an even game, but the bit highlighted in bold is you talking bollocks I'm afraid. Giroud's mis-hit wasn't an open goal, although he should have done better. Also you didn't come closest to scoring either, the best chance of the game was the one at the near post where Giroud blasted over.

Giroud has more quality than Anichebe, but doesn't work anywhere near as hard. He doesn't have the same injury problems, though. Different style of player, in my opinion.
Each is better suited to the side that they play for.

5 wins and 1 draw since we lost to Spurs.

You seemingly can't grasp the simple difference between the best chance of scoring & coming closest to actually doing so <doh>

The Giroud miss were he blasted over was nowhere near the target & wasn't the best chance of the game anyway. The one I mentioned was an open goal, as Howard had left his line & was nowhere, when Giroud angled that shot wide the goal was at his mercy i.e open. The closest either team came to scoring was Barkleys shot which had beaten the keeper & was inches wide of the the top corner.

So I'm afraid that it's you talking bollocks son. The end.

    Are you still here ?

Talking bollocks still I see, the game ended 0-0 and both teams had chances to win it, but it's over now and you got beaten by Sunderland yesterday, so you're history now. The end <ok>

The most interesing is that all three clubs are in full control for the remaining 2 top 4 places. They do not have to rely on results of others. They just need to care about their own results. Arsenal and Chelsea and Spurs can say - if we win remaining games we will be in top 4 regardless of other results.

It is because we play Chelsea. Doesn't mean that we can all get top 4 (obviously), but all 3 of us are in the position that if we win all our games we WILL be top 4. Spurs and Chelsea can't both win all their games however.

So now it looks like the Chelsea-Spurs game may decide the top 4. .. Not in our hands after the ManU draw.

If Spurs drop any points against Chelsea, it will be in our hands.

But that last game against Newcastle is going to be a tricky one.

And if Chelsea drop points against Spurs and United, which is very likely, then it's in our hands too.
